Fiji Cube Refugium Sump Baffle Kit (10 Gallon Standard)

Was looking for a sump for my new 140 gallon turtle tank. When i saw this product I was so excited because it was exactly what I was looking for. Had some minor problems with damaged shipping but the company was extremely helpful and had me all the replacement pieces I needed within a day or so, also they sent EXTRA pieces of acrylic. Which was appreciated as this is a durable, good quality acrylic and I was able to utilize the extra pieces on my new tank build. Easy to install, and the company is great for helping out if you have any questions. Thanks alot Fiji Folks! Will definitely be buying more from you guys in the future. Sump has been running for over a month now and all works as intended.

The parts quality is excellent, as is the fit. My only concern is that there is so much wasted space at the top of the tank. The bubble trap seems right, but the sock holder and first baffle are pretty far from the rim. The socks also don't sit in the holder in away that allows them to open up, they are a bit long for this holder. I have contacted Fiji Cube and am posting this preliminary review so they can see the photos.

Excellent Sump baffle kit! Everything is precision made and screams quality. I couldnt have expected any better quality. It fits my 40 gallon Top Fin breeder from Petsmart just great! Only wish it could have come with simple instructions but if you look at the picture, its easy to figure out how to silicone it to the tank. I would suggest installing the baffles using a square and rulers and some tape and cardboard to hold the baffles in place while the silicone sets! This is going to make an awesome sump for my 180 gallon reef. Saves $$$ over the more expensive Acrylic sumps and does the same thing!

Some panels had damage from being dropped is my guess. The acrylic was broken and without acrylic weld solvent (that is also required to assemble a major part of this product) I was not able to repair the acrylic that was broken and cracked. Also an important to the assembly of this product is the need for acrylic weld solvent that does not come with the kit. Assuming that you receive your kit undamaged, you will find that without the little bit of acrylic weld solvent that you need you will not succeed in building a working sump. In my case the filter sock assembly failed to seal using silicone alone so that that section does not work. Secondly, another section of baffles were damaged and unusable. It was a mistake to order this kit considering these circumstances. Updated 29 April 2023, image showing a repaired section using acrylic weld solvent. Although not perfect it works now. Still not great because it should arrive damaged.

It's a great kit and looks better than cut glass baffles. I would have given at least 4 stars if not for the fact that all of my baffles were 1/8" - 3/16" narrower than the inside of a 20 long (the brand this kits made for, starts with A) I dont know if my kit was cut bad or the tank is built out of spec but what difference does it make? I expected the baffles to fit snugly. I taped off the first chamber to get a pro looking seam but the ridiculous amount of silicone that one baffle used just to fill gaps, I thought forget the tape and just go to town. It's a good thing I also ordered two 3oz tube of silicone or I would've run out. Lastly I would never give this kit five stars no matter how good it turned out simply because the most important area, the intake & socks are nearly impossible to seal. There are two 4 inch holes to get access to seams that need to be sealed tight. I hope mine are. What the point of filter socks or cups if particles flow through leaking seams. But I guess I can't really complain. I could never afford a manufactured sump of this size.

High quality product. Fairly easy installation. Had very good directions unlike a previous seller I purchased from. Decent price for all that you get.
