What material is this cooker made from?

It’s a hard plastic but it’s absolute crap. I returned it. Do not buy it.

How long does it take to cook white rice?

It depends on amount you are cooking. I used the chart provided with the pot to cook some white rice and unfortunately on my first try the pot completely melted before the rice got cooked thoroughly. I do not recommend using this pot for cooking white rice.

Im looking for instructions, in general. Any help?

there should have been one small card of instructions - where it said open or closed for vegetables, pasta or rice. I can't remember exactly, but I think it was closed for veggies and rice and open for pasta - i remember it was a two and one condition.
