Nice little project boxes
I used one of these to create a waterproof switch box for our outdoor cat shelter's heated floor. The ample size gave me plenty of room for what I needed, which was just space for 2 switches and the main power entry point. The included pre-drilled holes/mounting points are a welcome touch as well. There are numerous spots inside for stand-offs or mounting items inside, although I didn't utilize any of them. Being made of ABS, it will obviously be brittle, but working with care, you can easily avoid any accidental cracks/breakage. I used a combination of my drill and dremel to cut out the openings for the 2 power switches and the actual power cable's female port. The seal/gasket material that is included was more than enough, and I've found that as long as you tighten everything down EVENLY, it creates a very good seal.

Nice little project box
This is a nice little project box, it seems fairly sturdy, my only complaint is that the gasket should be one piece, I doubt this is going to be water resistant or submersible, but that's not particularly important for my needs.

Great solution for too many Christmas lights on the line
This year I wanted to line the sidewalk up to my house with a string of RGB smart Christmas lights. I put each light on a stake that pushes into the dirt and aligns level with the sidewalk. However, the length of my sidewalk was such that I had to buy a longer string of lights than I had sidewalk, so I had about 17 extra lights that had nowhere to go. So I purchased caps where I could remove the bulbs and cap off the sockets - mistake. I should have removed the bulbs BEFORE I purchased the caps and would have noticed that the light itself is not part of the bulb. The bulbs are just caps themselves, the light is built into the socket and cannot be removed. So I returned the caps and wondered how I could solve this. I thought that maybe a waterproof box where I could hide the extra 17 lights inside would work so ordered this. This box is plastic, a rectangular shape with no holes on the top or sides except for the screw holes. It comes with a piece of elastic gasket that you can easily insert into a groove on the edges to help keep it waterproof when the top is screwed on. I checked to see that the 17 lights would fit and seeing that they would, I then drilled a 1" hole into the side of the box with a spade bit (very easy) then fed the 17 lights/bulbs into the box. I screwed on the lid and hid the box in the grass next to the last lit bulb on the sidewalk. Because it's black, one can hardly see it. There's still the issue of the hole in the box where I fed the lights being open to the elements or bugs climbing in, but I plan to use a gasket or waterproof tape to block that off. When I remove the lights after the season is over, these 17 will just stay in the box, ready for next year. This box worked great for my Christmas light needs - especially because I was doing a sidewalk, so I could hide the box in the grass. If I were doing a roof line and had extra lights it might be a challenge to hide the box but I guess it's not impossible. Nevertheless, this turned out to be a great solution to having too many lights on the line.

They Live Here Now
I make things. Little things. Quiet things. Meshtastic things. And these boxes? These aren’t just enclosures. These are houses. Sanctuaries. Protective shrines where my nodes whisper to each other through the ether like caffeinated raccoons with walkie-talkies. You open one of these and you’re not just looking at a PCB. You’re looking at a networked soul screaming, “RSSI -84 and still alive, baby!” Dustproof? Waterproof? Maybe. Emotionally available? Never. This isn’t a project box. It’s home now. And I’m just the landlord with a soldering iron and questionable intentions.
