FROGG TOGGS Ultra-lite2 Waterproof, Breathable Rain Poncho, Adult and Youth Sizes

I love it. It's very roomy and I love that the inside has a soft, thin layer of fleece so I don't have cold plastic against my skin. This is made very well, and I adore the pink color. Wish it came in purple too. It's very lightweight on the body. I'm 5' tall even and it comes down to mid-calf on me. Plenty of coverage. I mostly use this to stay dry while taking the trash out to the curb if it's raining. This is great for any situation though. My only annoyance is the hood. It is too big and flops down over my eyes and face. It does have a drawstring closure but that almost makes it even worse for me. I have to use some small butterfly type hair clips to attach the edge of the hood to my hairline to keep it over my head but off my face.

Bought this while on my Hawaii trip due to heavy rains. Order took two days to get here. Used it during a downpour and worked perfectly! I was totally dry otherwise and very easy to put on. Material and quality was excellent and would buy again. Very packable and lightweight.

I have mixed feelings about this poncho. There's pros and cons, and it truly depends on who is purchasing this poncho and what for! I purchased this poncho for our Disney Trip. I have heard great things about Frogg Toggs, including the long life and great coverage, so I figured this purchase would be perfect for all the Disney Trips we take throughout the years! And if I liked it, then I would purchase another for my husband. I received it 2 days before our trip. Thankful I opened it because the smell of a burnt forest is not what I'd be able to walk around smelling like throughout my trip. The smell was HORRIFIC! Not sure why or how it gets this smell, but it is definitely not even close to being wearable unless it is washed first. When I opened it up completely, there was a tear in the front of it. It was small, but it was mixing that whole waterproofed layer of material, and no doubt if we were in heavy rain, it would go through. I contacted the company immediately, and they sent out a new one overnight!!! VERY PLEASED with the Customer Service! With that being said, I did have to wait till it arrived in order to wash it because of the smell. But it arrived, I put it in a laundry bag for protection, added it with a few other items and washed it on gentle cycle. It came out great, stink free, put it in the dryer for 2 minutes to get the excess water off before I hung it to dry, and it was dry to take on my trip the next morning. Now.. onto the size and coverage. This thing is HUGE! I am 5' 3, and although I wish I can say I was super skinny, I can't :-(. But... I'm not really big either. I wore maybe a size 8 at that time. Comes down really low. Hey.. Can't complain about the coverage now, right? It's not to the point of it tripping me, but it is extremely long! Not a biggy.. It's light weight, does not feel bulky and heavy, and I'll get great coverage obviously. I also wanted this one because of the hood. I can tighten it so it doesn't fly off when it's really windy. But the hood ended up being a problem. It was SO BIG, that it not only covered my whole head, but my entire face too!!! Not even an exaggeration! I tried to stop it at my forehead and tighten the toggle to keep it from going over my face, but it didn't work. So it is very hard to walk around the parks in this, as I can't see where I'm going! I wore it on splash mountain, and we had the best laugh at the action shot of the log flume going down. Who is that faceless person?!?!? All you saw next to my little 5 year old, was a giant blue cape! It really was funny! So... I gave it 4 because it does have great coverage and the durability is obvious. Will last for many years to come. But, it has been passed over to my husband because the hood is just way too big. For him as well, But he can deal with it better. And as far as the smell is concerned.. easy fix by washing it gently in a netted garment/washer bag if you don't have front loads, to prevent it from getting torn in the wash. Just make sure you order it to arrive several days before you will need it and you'll be fine. Overall... This poncho is of great quality and will have a very long life if you take care of it and store it properly. Perfect for a man or tall woman. And the hood? Not too horrific if you're not as picky as me or have an issue if it flies off your head.

Nice quality, fits as expected & rain proof! It is a nice thickness & durable, yet breathable. I don't have to worry about tearing it while putting it on or off. The hood is versatile & I can wear it on or off. Compact & easy to fit in backpack. Nice product.

This is the second one I own. Great to have in the car for those unexpected Florida down pours! I love that I can pack it into its pouch to store. Keeps me nice and dry without that clinging feel I always get from typical rain coats. I bought this to replace a very expensive rain coat that I purchased from a name brand company that I got absolutely soaked in a mild rain. This is fantastic inexpensive and lightweight. Toss over your head has side snaps that you can make it fit closer to body or leave unsnapped. Loved my first one I bought so well that I bought this to leave in the delivery can I drive. The bright yellow is perfect when out delivering.

On the lighter side of material available from Frogg Toggs but that makes it easier to carry around. It fits well over anything and I am able to actually wear it over a back pack as well. Waterproofness is never a question for frogg toggs. Durability it takes a hit but the price to performance is so good it didn’t impact my rating of the product. Keep one everywhere just in case and I don’t feel bad if I need to lend it out and it never comes back.

Here are the side by side measurements from the package of the Adult and Youth ponchos for comparison. I often fit a Youth size better so tried both to compare. The Youth size hood and width fit better but sleeve length was too short. The Adult size was gigantic. The hood prevented vision and the width was so voluminous it was comical. I could get the ponchos back into their pouches fine. One thing I did not like was that the poncho comes wrapped in thick paper with a snap. That snap is difficult to unsnap and using scissors to cut a slit can easily accidentally cut the thin fabric and trying to pull it off will cause a hole. Plus it damages the packaging for returns. Overall these are nice ponchos just wish a size between Youth and Adult was offered.

My wife has been using this poncho on long hikes, and it’s become one of her favorite pieces of gear. Waterproof, lightweight, and not flimsy. It definitely will work more than once. It’s a bit long for a five year old. His carters rain jackets can’t keep him dry in the atmospheric rivers that keep dumping on him so I got this and it works well! His arms are a little exposed so sleeves get wet but other than that it’s great! Dries fast too!

I live in wet tropics (FNQ in Australia) and this is a great option to stay dry without the excessive heat that accumulates from wearing a jacket, due to the Poncho’s ultra loose fit, allowing humid air to easily escape. Frogs Toggs Ponchos are great value for money, and they use environmentally friendly materials. There is no toxic PFAS or PFC chemicals used in their making, so even better for you, your family & the planet’s health! And equally important, the poncho has robust, durable construction. I envisage this will last a long time - as backed by other user’s comments on its durability (unlike my last past poncho made by a different manufacturer and only lasted 2 days 7 was junk). The Frogs Toggs poncho is well built & made to last. The best value poncho on the market IMHO.
