Corectly Rated But Overpriced
Several critical reviews have been wrongfully written about this product because the buyer does not understand the rating system. WLL 6 TONS as marked on the side of this product is the safety Weight Load Limit rating for lifting objects above your head. The method for calculating the WLL is to multiply the Minimum Breaking Load (MBL) by a safety factor that usually ranges from 4 to 6 but may be as high as 10 where human life is directly involved (rating an elevator in a tall building). That rating is dramatically different from the strength rating for pulling a truck out of the mud without breaking. This snatch block with a WLL of 6 tons would typically be expected to have a Minimum Breaking Load of 24 to 36 tons, or somewhere between 48,000 to 72,000 pounds (guessing, without the benefit of knowing the manufacturer's specifications). Pretty much all of the recovery equipment sold on the market is NOT using the WLL limit, and they state flat out in their warranty information that their equipment is NOT rated for lifting. If you want the exact Minimum Breaking Load of this product, contact Warn. However, you can rest assured that Warn's claim of 33,000 pounds is a safe indication of how much winching/pulling power the equipment can handle in a recovery situation without breaking. Smittybilt #2748 appears to be the same exact product with the same WLL 6 TON designation, and Smittybilt is advertising it as a 36,000-pound snatch block. Warn is being a bit more conservative than Smittybilt, and probably chose to advertise it at 33,000 pounds as a match for their 16,500 pound winches (a snatch block doubles the pull of the winch if properly configured). That is still far away from the MBL of 48,000 to 72,000 lbs as described above. And yes, it is overpriced. The Smittybilt version is less than half the price. But this one has the Warn name on it, and their reputation standing behind it, so what do you expect? So, if you plan to use this product with a crane for lifting above people's heads, stick with the 6-ton rating. If you are stuck in the mud and need a little extra help, then you can trust Warn when they say it is good for (at least) 33,000 pounds of pull.

The Product Description Is Incorrect
The description incorrectly states this snatch block is rated for 33,000 pounds. The product received has forged onto the side that it is rated for 6 tons, which is only 12,000 pounds. Amazon needs to correct the description as it is a potential safety issue.

6 ton working load limit, Not the 33,000 lbs. as advertised
I ordered several of these and when they showed up they are clearly marked 6 ton working load limit. Not the 33,000 lbs. as advertised. I called Warn Technical support and after several emails, I was told to that Warn will not certify them for 33,000 lbs. as advertised, and to use at your own risk. NOT what I expected from Warn!
