ROYAL CHRISTMAS - Hallmark - As the only daughter of an expert tailor in Philadelphia, Emily Corrigan is a kindhearted young woman proud of her blue-collar background. She is a devoted seamstress at the family business and madly in love with her doting European boyfriend, Leo. But as their first Christmas together approaches, Leo drops a bombshell on his unsuspecting girlfriend: he is actually Prince Leopold, heir to the throne of Cordinia, a small sovereign country. - Less than enthusiastic about her son's relationship with a commoner, the prince's mother Queen Isadora makes Emily feel anything but welcome at their grand castle, leaving Emily to feel more at home among Isadora's staff of butlers and housemaids. As Emily struggles to adapt to her new royal surroundings, the situation is made more difficult when a scheming Isadora invites Duchess Natasha, Leo's ex-girlfriend, to join them for Christmas. Attempting to stay true to herself in a world where she clearly doesn't belong, Emily wonders if love is enough to keep her newly royal relationship from falling apart before Christmas morning. Favorite Hallmark Christmas movie!
All the females in this household, from multiple generations, love this movie. We usually watch it several times every year. The leading characters are engaging, and while the plot may be predictable, several subplots keep it entertaining. A big plus is that I don't think anyone could find anything offensive in this movie. It is truly suitable for all ages.

Romantic Christmas Love Story
This 2014 romantic film is part of the Hallmark Countdown to Christmas collection. We begin in New York City. Outside, it’s snowy and getting close to Christmas. Amidst the brownstone houses, Emily Taylor (Lacey Chabert) has just made breakfast for herself and her boyfriend Leo (Stephen Hagan). Leo is far away from home and just finished college in New York. The happy couple has been dating for about a year now, and they are looking forward to their first Christmas together. They have obviously grown very attached to each other.But then, Momma calls – Isadora – QUEEN Isadora!That’s right! Leo is actually Prince Leopold of Cordinia, a kingdom in the South of France. Leo has been enjoying his anonymity in the USA. Isadora wants Leopold to come home for the holidays, so Leo has to fess up about Leopold and his royal heritage. When Leo takes Emily home to meet the Queen (Jane Seymour), the fun begins.As you might expect, Isadora is just now finding out about Emily and it doesn’t sit well when she finds out her Leopold is in love with an American COMMONER, who is also the daughter of a tailor, and by trade, is a unsuccessful (but talented) dress designer. So Izzie starts out on a path to break up this relationship by trying to make Emily feel uncomfortable and by reminding Leopold of his duty to marry the Dutchess Natashia.Chabert has done several of the Hallmark Christmas movies and she is excellent, very appealing and down to earth. Hagan makes a nice match for her as the royal Prince and ordinary guy combined. Seymour is wonderful as the snarky, uppity Queen. The head butler, Victor, and Dutchess, Natashia are also great in their supporting roles. This is a very entertaining 87 minute flick about love vs. the perceived obligations of the throne.

A royal Christmas
Lovely film, can enjoy over and over again

A delicious Christmas cheese ball!
First off – we all know that Christmas movies are cheese-fests! So – setting that aside, this movie is actually quite nice. This film combines my favourite things: marrying a prince and Christmas! This particular film was ranked pretty high as the best of this particular genre (marrying a prince over Christmas). The cast is wonderful: Lacey Chabert, Jane Seymour, and Stephen Hagan. Jane Seymour does an excellent job at playing a character we want to hate. I’m not familiar with Stephen Hagan, but he is a total cutie and definitely a prince that I would want to marry.There isn’t much to this film – it cuts right to the chase. Lacey Chabert’s character discovers her boyfriend is a prince within the first 15 minutes of the film. From there, she accompanies him home and tries to blend in - think “The Prince and Me” (2004). The film also incorporates concepts of noble lifestyle from “Gosford Park” (2001) and “Downton Abbey.” Overall, the movie’s concept is not original, (there are plenty of prince marrying, Christmas movies out there), it’s simple and unsophisticated; BUT still it’s a pleasure and joy to watch – especially if you enjoy the Christmas spirit.The five star rating is for the condition of the product. No problems with the case, disc, or shipping of the product.

We actually watched the movie together - when it comes to Christmas movies this is a good one to watch with the entire family
This was purchased as a gift for my mom who has been struggling due to a motor vehicle accident. I thought this would lift up her spirits and get her into the spirit of Christmas...and it worked! We actually watched the movie together - when it comes to Christmas movies this is a good one to watch with the entire family. Jane Seymour was superb! If you're looking for a nice family Christmas movie to get you into the spirit of Christmas you won't go wrong with this one...so pop some popcorn and enjoy another lovely Christmas movie...you'll want to add it to your collection I'm sure.
