Courage: The Joy of Living Dangerously Review: Highly recommend - This book changed me Review: My favorite Osho book so far - Osho was prolific - and I'm only starting to delve into his huge canon of work. The Joy of Living Dangerously may be one of the best books written on individuality. What makes Osho compelling is his ability to create a picture for the reader - strong examples, compelling arguments and reasoning (for lack of better terms since Osho isn't "arguing" his point) which will enlighten and illuminate any reader. The book is ideal for anyone who feels stuck in life; a relationship; etc - sure, many wise authors will offer views that may overlap with what you read here. But the real reason to get this is for Osho's effortless ease of writing - his simplicity and straightforward style is hard to better and makes this enjoyable if thought provoking to read. I had some "a-ha" moments and I'm sure you will too.

Very enjoyable easily readable book.
Osho always has awesome ideas and insights into the nature of mind and reality, and this book is no exception. I must admit it starts a little slow, and with my short attention span I found it slightly boring in the beginning chapters. As the book got going however it felt like one profound insight after another. His simple method of writing is pleasant and makes it easily understandable, I didn't find myself re reading pages very often like you often have to in spiritual and psychology books. Anyone looking for a good book on insight into the mental "mechanics" behind our fears, or anyone that loves psychology you will find this interesting. For those out there looking for a self help or book with "methods" this is not for you though. There is no methods of enlightenment or practice in here. Cheers!

Following your heart is the first step to living a fulfilling life
This is probably one of my top 3 favorite books of all time along with Models and Psycho cybernetics. Osho has a way with words that is able to impact the audience like no other. We've all listened to motivational speeches addressing fear, but Osho talks about the aspects that others haven't even touched before. A great lesson that I've learned is that living freely and courageously means following your heart. At times it could lead to you to grand adventures, but at the same time, it could also lead down to scary roads too. These days many people are living by their mind too much. The mind is a great instrument, but it's always calculating and analyzing, which causes people to suffer from analysis paralysis. The best way to live a happy and fullfilling life is to follow your heart and take a leap of faith!

Inspiringly insightful -- a delight.
This book deserves more than five stars. You can open any page in this marvellous book, and you will find something insightful, something joyously quotable. Osho, I am deeply grateful to you. Starting with what is courage which is going into the unknown in spite of all the fears, Osho exhorts you to revel in insecurity. I just opened the book and I got the "Foreword" page, and on the top Osho says: "Don't call it uncertainty -- call it wonder. Don't call it insecurity -- call it freedom" In the chapter on "The Courage of Love" Osho asserts rightly that there is no higher religion than love. I agree with this totally. Unless you drop all the "isms", you are not capable of pure love. "Love is a rare flowering and it can happen only when there is no fear, never before". I can go on and on, but it is better you find it for yourself through reading this fine book. It will transform you. Love and best wishes.

I'd give Osho 5 galaxies!
When one would figure that every facet of courage has been covered, Osho has surprises in store. I am just speechless over his descriptive language and ability to get spiritual concepts across. This book has greatly enhanced my understanding of the great unknown which we often pretend is not out there. Osho invites us not to follow him but to take these leaps on our own. We are reminded of our divine right to question everything as opposed to having someone else take guide or take care of us. This book is permeated with lighthearted humor in each chapter that it just adds to the intoxicating pleasure I derive from it. I have kept this book within reach daily as I enjoy it wholeheartedly. I give this book 5 galaxies! Charles Wildbank

Meh
Using other doctrines’ phrases and buzzwords as if they’re his. Full of wrong terminology and misuse of fancy words to sound spiritual, deep or philosophical. Overall is okay give it a try.

"Only the gamblers know what life is."
Osho in one word: Powerful. After only getting ankle deep in 'Courage', the insights and loving wisdom of Osho is as clear as desert night skies. If you are looking for ways to adjust your current daily behaviors or thought patterns in order to live a much more bountiful, rewarding and courageous life, this book is a wonderful step down that path. "[...]Courage is risking the known for the unknown, the familiar for the unfamiliar, the comfortable for the uncomfortable, arduous pilgrimage to some unknown destination. One never knows whether one will make it or not. It is gambling, but only the gamblers know what life is."
