Grate clamped I use it on tiny models

Bought these to clamp the lids on my large mobile trash containers. We get high winds that were blowing the lids open. They are easy to install and take off with one hand. There are four cans. The one I used as a test before ordering turns out to have a different form factor. The 2" clamp fits the front perfectly. The other cans have an overhang as a lift handle. I can only attach the clamp on the side. I "borrowed" one from my husband's wood working equipment as a test. It fit my small hand and the test can perfectly. They are a tight fit, and pulling them off can cause the yellow plastic grips to come off.

3rd hand , very usefull

The photos on this item page show some big manly clamps being used in cabinet installation, but these clamps are really much smaller. The product dimensions listed further down the page say "100 x 2.8 x 0.8 inches" which clearly makes no sense. My photo shows one in my palm, and I do not have big hands. Also, the listing claims that these clamps open up to 1 1/2", but in fact they only open to 1 3/8". So they can't clamp two regular 3/4" thick boards together. Certainly they will come in handy on smaller projects, but they're not really what I wanted. I would probably give them 5 stars, but I took off stars because I feel the description is misleading.

I needed to clamp down areas on a kitchen drawer that had laminate that was coming down, so I could glue it. This clamp was easy to use and did the job.

These clamps are very quick to apply and release but due to the lack of mechanical advantage, the distance from the pivot to the clamps is virtually the same as the distance from the pivot to the end of the handles, you cannot apply much more than hand pressure to the work. These may work fine for clamping the work while glue sets up or for stabilizing a router guide or some other task that does not require a lot of pressure but cannot compare to C-clamps or Vice grips in holding power. I bought 3 of these things for use in an industrial environment to clamp stops in a vertical boring machine but they would slip at the slightest impact, no matter how hard I tried to clamp them. As I pointed out, the problem seems to be the lack of mechanical advantage in clamping. The design simply will not allow you to hold any item tighter than you can hold it with your hand. In applications where you need another hand to hold something, they are probably just fine, and just that, another hand.

Many moons ago I bought four small clamps of the same make and style and over the years they have been super useful in my workshop albeit a tad small. So, having decided to embark on a new project I felt that I could justify some new ones but bigger and thus these nice shiny ones arrived at my gaff a few weeks ago. And... I love them. They are just what I need in my workshop as quick go-to clamps when needing moderate force. Well made and even being plastic they won't break unless you have the grip of a silverback gorilla. I love the clean design and simplicity of use. Bottom line is that I like everything about these and the price is fair for what they are.
