Best purchase ever
This is the best cherry pitter ever!!! I pit 5-8 cases per year (18lbs each) this pitter makes light work of it!!! I would buy it again. I freeze dry them and freeze them & also dehydrate them.

Easy assembly, easy cleaning
Easy assembly, easy cleaning. Works better than all the other cherry pitters I've ever tried. I used it with big sweet cherries, and it worked great. Warning: some pits will survive, but far less than with all other pitters I've used. Plan to use it next year from the very start of cherry season.

Huge time saver with a little flaw.
Where has this been all my life!??!?! We have two abundantly producing cherry trees. We put over 25 gallons of pie cherries in the freezer this year. I bought this machine half way through the harvest. It cut our processing time by 3/4! I couldn't be happier. Only issue was that the pitter does tear the cherries up a bit more than my single pitter. And doesn't always release the cherry. We tried the tape trick posted by another reviewer and it worked great. We're trying to figure out some type of more permanent fix so the cherries release better.

It is not functional
Absolutely junk. It is not even worth a penny. Everything uses the lowest grade/cheapest sheet metal that are not stable and useless. After doing only one pound of tart cherry all my problems started. It either gets stuck or shoots the pit 10 ft with a splash pattern on the floor. Even the first lb had about 10% pit in it. Which makes it worthless for pitting cherry. It is a health danger for breaking your teeth or swallowing the pit. I am returning mine asap. Also the item doesn't include the pit catcher as it is shown on the picture.

Love how easy it is to setup and use
4 cherry trees so using my new cherry putter was great. Very easy to setup, get pitting and then cleanup. Only change I added was to use aluminum rectangle pan to catch seeds and a smaller tray for cherries that fall out while pitting. Life got much easier this season.

Awesome product
This beats pitting with a straw. I would highly recommend this to anyone!!

The real deal if you want to pit a lot of cherries
After trying a plastic hand-held pitter, which immediately broke, and then a plastic tray pitter, which also immediately broke, I bought this stainless steel pitter. Yes, it costs much, much more, and it's bulky to store, but it really does pit cherries quickly and successfully and it's fun to use, no less. I have now canned 30 lbs. of brandied Bing cherries, which would have been nearly impossible without this cherry pitter. Wear black (to prevent cherry stains) and know that juicy cherries will make quite a mess on your kitchen counter.

This is the best pitter I've ever used
This is the best pitter I've ever used! I was hesitant to pick up this device but I don't regret it one bit! Pitting cherries used to be the most tedious task and I'd dread it. So far this season I've pitted about 100 lbs of cherries and I'm not tired of it yet ;) I think that there are two issues with this device, both of which are easy to overcome: 1) Sometimes (rarely) the removed pits will land on the slide for the cherries, resulting in pits in you cherry bowl. I've resolved this temporarily by taping a piece of cardboard atop the slide. It separates the pits and cherries much better. 2) The tray with the handle (for pits) is worthless. Swap it out for something wider that can hold the cherry juices. Maybe also create a cardboard funnel to direct the pits into it. Someone should make 3D printed fixes for these two issues ;)
