Further, they have an army of attorneys that would have this product removed from Amazon in a second. They are hardcore when it comes to counterfeit products! This cable has been on this page for a long time now, given the dates of reviews, so there is absolutely no reason to believe this is counterfeit. They also sell this cable on their own site, to add further authenticity. But NOTE, this is a 20Gbps Thunderbolt 3 cable, NOT a 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 cable. This means it will not run a monitor any larger than 4K, nor will it daisy chain two 4K monitors. There are few peripherals that otherwise take advantage of 40Gbps bandwidth. So if you're not running a 5K monitor or larger, daisy chaining two 4K monitors, then this cable should do just about anything you need it to. Apple cables are great. They aren't necessarily the best, though. My experience with them is that they last a few years and then need replacing, unless you just plug it in, leave it plugged in, and never move anything it's plugged into. So for the cost of this cable, I say it's a great value compared to paying twice as much—or more—for a full 40gbs 6.6ft cable that may not last any longer. Additionally, if you do use a laptop and move it about, most braided cables are too heavy and will wear down your port connectivity. This cable is light enough to not cause damage to any connected device costing 100 times the price. **Q: Is this cable Thunderbolt 2 or Thunderbolt 3?** A: It's Thunderbolt 2--that is, 20 Gb/s, with Mini DisplayPort-style connectors. **Q: Does this enable dual support between the macbook pro and imac? or just faster file transferring?** A: This helps and works very well.
