The best case for the RX100
Replacement for the worn out 12+ year old case for my original RX100. Very slightly deeper to accommodate the newer models. Classy, great looking protection.

Get this case for Sony Rx100 vii
This is a hard cover case!! I appreciate the greater protection of the lens. Love the fact that I'm able to take off cover completely or leave it still attached as I wish. This is a great compact case for an expensive camera!

I bought the Sony to use while traveling, in place of my much larger Canon 6D. Likewise, I wanted something to protect it but also not increase the size. These molded cases offer great protection, and you can use the camera by simply folding the top part down. They also look very sharp. As noted, to get to the card or battery, you have to remove the camera from the case, which isn't that big of a deal, you silly unscrew the the thumb screw. I looked at other designs that offered access to the bottom while the case was on, but kept coming back to this design. It fits the camera like a glove, is ( or looks like) leather, and adds hardly any extra bulk.

Well made and good fit
Just a bit spendy. AND: the grip we all spent good money on will not fit under the case. However, the case now fills that function. Grip no longer needed.

Good protection.
Highly recommended. It fits my Sony RX100 VI very well. The straps are very secure. If instruction on how to install the straps was followed, then it’s installed securely. The instruction is located on the side of packaging box. I had a previous jacket case that lasted 2 Sony Rx100 cameras, 15 years. Had to replace old case as the leather material was peeling. My old case protected my cameras through my travels for the past 15 years.

Great protection for your Sony RX 100
I just bought this case for my Sony RX 100 vii. It only takes a few seconds to remove the case from the camera if you need to change the battery or the card. I did have to remove the Sony grip that I had put on the camera. Otherwise, the camera does not fit in the case. I reinstalled the grip on the outside of the case for a little extra security. And the case looks great hanging around your neck and it opens in a flash. This was a good investment.

Shoddy, Defective Materials & Workmanship - Case Splits, Flakes
Within 4 months of me buying this case the black material started flaking off, splitting and cracking! I only used the case (for an RX100 series Sony camera) four times! Very light, careful use. Whoever builds it for Sony (OEM?) is using inferior materials and production methods. Sony will not honor the 1 year warranty that the product was supposed to carry. And, their Customer "Support" group just keeps shuffling customers with a defective product that merits free replacement to four different departments (Customer Service, Warranty Service, Claims, Engineering) with no action and no replacement in the quoted 24-48 hours timeframe. For reference...I'd purchased this same model case in 2010 and used it, with no splitting, flaking product defects for 12 years. I am very careful about using my camera gear and it is a secondary camera/case so gets light, relatively infrequent use. Same holds, usage-wise, for the new model purchased in late September 2024. Bottom line: Don't buy this case. Sony is now using cheap materials and sub-par manufacturing. As a result, the expensive case will fail within a few short months. When that happens, Sony Customer "Support" will give you the run around, will not replace the defective case and will not honor the stated 1 year warranty on it.
