Hario V60 Plastic Coffee Dripper, Size 02, White

I previously bought the ceramic V60, and it proceeded to take the place of 2 very large coffee machines in my kitchen. I use it every single day, either for pour over style or for filtering cold brew coffee (I make it by just pouring the grounds directly into the water, then filtering it as I use it). It has simplified my coffee making, cut down on the amount of electricity I use to make it (especially with the cold brew!), and really helps bring out the flavor of the beans I use. I loved the ceramic one so much, that I purchased the plastic version of the V60 for traveling, and it has saved me a ton of money by allowing me to easily make my own pour over and cold brew coffee on the road. The main distinction between the two kinds (ceramic and plastic) is obviously the weight, but also the ceramic version has a wider lip on the bottom than the plastic one. Since I mainly use it with mason jars, I prefer the bottom of the plastic one, because it fits inside the rim of the small mason jar tops, versus the ceramic one, which is exactly the same size, which makes it slightly unstable with the smaller mason jar tops. The ceramic one works wonderfully with large mouth mason jars though, so now that I have both, I use the ceramic one with the wide mouth and mugs, and the plastic one with regular mouth mason jars. In addition to being great for making coffee, these can also act as excellent funnels when filling mason jars or other containers!

Some reviewers complain that their paper filters tear out when used in this funnel because this funnel has an unusually large drain hole. I don’t know what kind of cheap filters these people are using. I use common Militta brand filters — good quality but hardly exotic — and I have had no such problems. Remember, when you make coffee using this sort of drip/pour-over method, you’re supposed to sprinkle the water on gently, not just dump it all in violently. Some reviewers have complained that their unit didn’t come with the scoop shown in some of the pictures. Mine came with that exact plastic scoop. I’s sort of folded into the top flap of the box; remember, the Japanese like origami. I’ll bet that some of you threw your scoop away accidentally. Even so, it’s just a standard, two-tablespoon coffee scoop. These days, you should be measuring by weight anyway. Good, accurate, easy-to-use digital kitchen scales are cheap; it’s high time you bought one… and not just for coffee. With all of that said, what is there to say about the actual funnel? It works well. It fits the Hario V60 Carafe perfectly. In a world of expensive coffee gadgets, this pair works well at a very reasonable price. It’s good quality; you’ll use it every day for years. It survives the occasional accidental drop to the floor. It’s simple to use. And it’s dishwasher-safe. Just buy it.

There is a reason the V60 is a hallmark of coffee brewing, and this brewer is no exception. This is my daily driver and goes with me everywhere from short trips out of town to multi weeks camping trips. The plastic is great, honestly preferred to the ceramic and metal versions because of (1) its weight and (2) its heat retention. You can get some great brews with this thing, and it's so easy to travel with its absurd. If you value good coffee, you ought to own this.

I've had two ceramic Hario V60's. Both broke from short drops on counter or in sink, so I thought I needed something more durable. This plastic version fits the job perfectly. It make as good a cup of coffee, is very light, and doesn't need any preheating. The other advantage is the ring under the brewer has a smaller diameter, which allows it to sit inside the lip of a wide mouth Hydro Flask. This allows you to brew straight into the Hydro Flask, which saves time and cleaning. The ceramic V60's ring is the same diameter as the Hydro Flask, which leads to leaking if the brewer is not seated precisely.

Bought this so I could have decent, portable coffee when I’m overlanding in the wilderness. When you’re spending your days dodging Grizzlies, bull moose, and other things best avoided, you need to start your days with good coffee. I tried it a few times at home to find the right coffee/water/temp combo. Ive used it way more often at home than I expected. I actually think I like it more than my French Press, and use it as oftenas our 800.00 Breville. For camping, I like it better than Aeropress personally, I think its quicker and tastes better, and its a hell of a lot cheaper. I have tried it with regular cone filters, basket type filters and the ones purpose made for this funnel. There is a difference, buy the filters purpose made, they’re not expensive, but they definitely make better coffee. They allow the funnel to work as it’s designed, which is a slightly different, and better mechanism than typical pour-over funnels.

Does what it says it does and well

Most people roll their eyes when you break out the pourover gear. "It's just coffee," say the uninitiated. I've been surprised by how many professional baristas on YouTube recommend the plastic V60 over the other versions. It's more affordable, harder to break, and retains heat in the grounds better. Yes, plastic stains much easier than glass or ceramic, even if you clean it right away and that's probably the worst thing you can say. I would advise anyone looking at this though, who's never done pourover at least, to check out some how-to videos first. Something as simply as not pouring the right way or using the wrong size grounds can result in a nasty cup of coffee first thing in the morning. And there is a learning curve. Once you hit it, though, you'll be making some of the best coffee of your life. And it'll shut up the people looking at you funny or making fun of you for being a coffee nerd. One of the other things I really like about this is you can make a single cup or an entire carafe of coffee with no additional equipment.

I've tried a lot of pourover devices but to me, this makes as good of coffee as a chemex. I think it is possible the shape and flow of the filters is what matters. This is really nice to keep at the office and have decent coffee. But you have to get the filters. You can fold a melita type in a pinch but just go for it.

Bisogna davvero parlare di questo prodotto iconico? Forma a V con angolo a 60 gradi, per questo il nome V60.. se è un classico ci sarà un motivo. Acquistate l originale ad occhi chiusi. Questo è in plastica, per chi volesse esiste anche in ceramica ma per me il gusto cambia in maniera impercettibile dato che compro il caffè in un bar che loro fanno con quella in ceramica e a casa viene uguale.

Very nice product, great design. Got the white plastic. Came with a matching scoop. Works as advertised. Requires a bit of patience, but that's expected with a manual pour-over. Good quality and care went into this Hario product. Made in Japan.

Entgegen der Beschreibung ist diese Version der v60 aus Kunststoff, nicht Glas. Abgesehen davon tut der Pour-Over was er soll. Size 2 Filter passen exakt. Vorteil der Kunststoffvariante gegenüber Metall oder Glas ist, dass sie Wärme schlechter leiten und im Gegensatz zu Glas nicht beim ersten Fall brechen.

Muito melhor que os transparente de acrílico. Valeu a pena ter comprado esse
