As you see, it comes in a stick and not a puck. The scent is officially listed as rose. I don’t know if it’s really Rose, but it smells nice and I like it. Several reviewers peel some of the wrapper off of the stick, and rub the soap directly onto their beard. Then they use a brush to foam it up right on their face. I, like many, like to use a shaving mug and lather it up in the mug, and then apply it. Some have suggested cutting the soap into small pieces and pressing it into the bottom of your shaving mug. I think that’s the way to go. AI said that this shaving soap, like many, are just like a glycerin based soap and that you can cut it into little pieces and melt it in the microwave oven and pour it into the bottom of your shaving mug. Well, this soap is not like glycerin soap. You can’t cut it into little pieces and try to melt it and pour it into your shaving mug. DON’T DO IT! I cut off half a stick, chopped it into small pieces and put it into a beaker. Then I tried to melt it in the microwave. In less than 10 seconds, it expanded into a giant fluffy mess that was unrecognizable as any kind of soap. I waited for it to cool and then tried to press it into the bottom of my shaving mug. It was a mess. I think it’s better just to cut it into small pieces and press it into the bottom of your shaving mug using the bottom of a shot glass or some other instrument. I think that heating this soap in a microwave oven may destroy some of its properties. I used a shaving brush with just a few few drops of warm water to create a nice lather from the soap in my shaving mug that I had previously tried to destroy by overheating in my microwave oven. I got very good results. And I am pleased with the shaving soap. But I am not going to use a microwave oven again. I will either smash it into the bottom of my shaving mug, or I will rub it directly into wet whiskers. I think this is good stuff. Your mileage may vary. But you won’t know until you try!
