I love this workbook! I’m having so much fun with my first explorations of Zentangles, and this book is exactly what I wanted. (For background, I’m a woman in her early 60’s who doesn’t consider herself much of an artist.) My only complaint is that the organization is a little strange - explaining how to make different patterns in different places - some with the space right there to give it a try and some with the blank “tiles” elsewhere in the book.

Great book for learning Zentangle. Packed with lots of images. Wonderful purchase. Refer to the book all the time.

This is a nice workbook for Zentangle beginners. It includes pattern guides as well as space for practice. I found that video lessons work better for me, though. I'm sure it's a personal preference depending on what type of learner you are. As far as workbooks go, this is nice quality paper and provides good starting point for those who are new to Zentangling.

Great workbook for tour tangled sketches

The instructions are clear and easy, broken down into steps. Makes bringing students into my doodling world fun and easy. Some really don't get the point, though. It is a planned procedure as a meditation, warm-up, and creativity starter. Could be expanded to by a knowledgeable teacher to introduce line types, rhythm, and interest. Enjoyable for a short time, though the "patented" designs and method are the height of arrogance and insult. For parents who want to keep their kids who like to draw busy in the summer, this is part of a whole series, and I would recommend.

This is a really good book for beginners. It is very simple and it introduces you to some designs. I watch YouTube videos before I bought this book. I think you will get more out of it if you do the same. The book does not go in depth like many of the videos I have watched. I also will add that this is so much more inexpensive than taking a class from a certified (yes, they certify the instructors). The book is written by a certified instructor so you are learning the technique. It is a philosophy as well so if you want to get more into that, a class will help. But if you just like to relax and draw, this is a good place to start.

Book is nicely done for beginners doing the art of Zentangle. Easy to follow.

I bought this introductory zentangle book for my 12 year old grandson, as as well as for my nine year old granddaughter. Both love drawing and I guessed right that they would love drawing zentangle patterns. This book gives step by step instructions on how to draw patterns and encouragement to practice them as "there is no such thing as mistakes in zentangle". Definitely buy this book, no matter your age, if you're new to the meditative, relaxing art of zentangle.
