Contentment: A Godly Woman's Adornment

This little book is full of helpful Biblical insight on learning to be content. The author was a speaker at a women's retreat for our church. She has written other titles in a series of "booklets".I highly recommend it and have bought copies to share with other women.

This is the best devotional I have ever read, I frequently read more than one at a time because I need the spiritual reality check. Lydia is very gentle, but speaks biblical truth to those who are hurting, disillusioned, and generally discontent. I found myself in this spot after a long journey of infertility resulting in a miscarriage. This book helped me to realize that I was placing my identity in my status as a mother, wife, and doctor, rather than as a daughter of Christ. I stumbled upon this book after buying Idols of the Heart by Elise Fitzpatrick, and it was the best thing ever for where I was in my spiritual walk. Beware, you will be convicted, but very gently and with Godly reasoning. Trust is just as good, I am currently enjoying Joy and have yet to read Purity. Thank you to Lydia for improving my walk with God and getting me through a really tough time. Now I'm on my way to Africa as a missionary, and Contentment, Trust, Purity, and Joy are going with me in my suitcase!

It is hardly fleeting happiness nor settling for less as we have become conditioned to think and believe. This is a wonderful book, a candle in the dark, a light from above. Thank you Lydia. I will read this book again and again.

Each essay begins with Scripture that is then applied to our daily walk as believers. The chapters are short but to the point making this a very practical and helpful book. I will probably read this several more times as it is such a help in focusing my heart on true contentment which is desiring holiness through a deeper relationship with God. This is a great book to share with a friend.

I think this book,this devotional is a blessing. I really enjoying the devotional. It's very eye opening and allows you to self evaluate. Spend the money and help yourself grow deeper in the spirit.

I love this book, it’s small yet filled with Godly wisdom that is convicting and encouraging. I suggest everyone get this book amongst Lydia’s other books she has generously and lovingly written.

Really good little devotional. I wish it was a little longer...but this was exactly what I needed during that season in my life. If you are dealing with change, or loss, or just feeling unsettled then you should check out this devotional. So good to focus on what God is doing and what God has done, not what I want or need. This helped me get my perspective back on track.

This book was so timely for me this year. Definitely a good reminder to trust God through everything! Highly recommend!
