It's waterproof. Doesn't come off until you wash it off.

Does this last a long time . About how many applications are in it?

Yes it lasts a very long time for me, I use it to cover my grey roots on my part-line between hair appointments every 4 weeks (my grey roots grow quickly) I use about 6-7 days every month. I have had over a year. If you use on more areas than your part-line I would assume it will not last as long as mine.

nice but overpriced

The product is nice and easy to use , color tint is right and doesn't have any extra tint in to it as yellow or red BUT! iT IS REALLY OVERPRICED If they will cut the price to $12 then i think it will be very successful product in all senses but for right now (I bought 5 different products on amazon for grey roots and I did review on all products) I was way more pleased and impressed with "Cover Your Gray Pro Fill-In Fibers with Procapil - Dark Brown" that one has benefit you will not have any marks on your palm after application which for me mean a lot because I am wearing white or light dresses often I live in Florida.
