A drawing and handwriting course for kids that is challenging, motivating, and fun! This book contains a collection of beginning drawing lessons and text for practicing handwriting based on the philosophy of author Marie Hablitzel. An elementary teacher for more than 30 years, Marie believed that drawing and handwriting require many of the same skills, and intertwined her daily drawing and handwriting lessons with math, science, social studies, geography, reading and creative writing. This series separates these lessons into common themes in eight instructive books that can be used in any order. Books are colorful and non-consumable, with an accompanying workbook (not included) to record the student s work. Children will improve their drawing skills, refine their handwriting clarity, and enjoy learning in the process! Review: Really Recommend! - I discovered handwriting book series through a blog. The examples are easy enough for me (very much NOT artistically talented) to follow. The kids love to draw and embellish each subject, and often carry their lesson over into other drawings. There are even options to expand the lesson as children improve or show greater interest.

My child asked for five more themed books after finishing this one.
I know when something is good when my child asks for more of similar kind. It was wonderfully inspiring and it kind of serves as a starting point for a little writer. Put a child in front of an empty page and ask them to write something.. they can get a writer's block just as an artist in front of white canvas. Give them something to grasp to start to engage with and they can open their minds and the writing can start flowing.. It was a wonderful product that did wonders for us.

Great idea for practicing writing and drawing while learning a more positive outlook onhistory
Love these books, what a great idea. I always had wished I was taught how to draw when I was a kid. Im learning too while teaching my daughter important lessons in history. However I wish the portrayed a more accurate history and highlighted the indigenous people and their culture as well as Columbus's contributions.

My kids love these books!
This is the 3rd book I have purchased of Draw-Write-Now. My boys love their drawing instructions so much! Their simple ways of layer steps to get to the end product has taught my kids to be more creative in their own free drawings.

Excited to incorporate this in our unit studies
Bought this book to go along with some of my American History units this year for my 1st grader. I am really excited for her to use it. She already loves drawing so it should be fun for her to do it in a more structured way. Bought it uses and it is in mint condition.

This looked like a very good book
This looked like a very good book..... I got it for a little girl from The Christmas Angel Tree so I don't know who it went to..... one of the suggestions on her tag was a book on how to draw..... after reading the reviews I decided to get this one..... I think whoever got it would be very happy with it.

A great deal of money
Def. geared to primary use. The sentences are too simple for most juniors. I was led to believe ( by a co worker) that this would suit my class age. A great deal of money, including shipping, for something I will only partially use. ๐
