The FINEST FUNCTIONAL backpack I have ever owned! Built with Precision!
The FINEST tactical backpack I have ever owned and guess what? I am a teacher and use it as a mobile office/Bug-out bag! To begin, I've never had so many compliments about a backpack before! Second, this is fully functional and carries everything I desire and more. It is obvious that they built this backpack with functionality in mind. It is roomy and built like a tank! The fabric is A+ and it also has water resistance to it too (The bag is made from a laminate 500D Cordura ). I attached an MSM Patch Panel to the front of the MOLLE just to keep handy teacher things such as pens, pencils, etc. I plan to attach two small pouches to the side to complete the backpack. Everything about this backpack is heavy duty from the zippers to the thread, to the stitching. I have never had a backpack so finely made as this. One of the main features that led me to choose the Ghost is the detachable admin pocket/beavertail. As a teacher, it just worked for my most important go-to items and can also double as a quickly detachable medic pouch. This part of the pack is one of the elements that makes it so flexible and modular, as it detaches to become a standalone grab and go bag, complete with its own carry handle. The organization of this pouch is fantastic. The back is well padded with a nice thick slab of closed-cell foam on each side. It's quite comfortable and functional. All around I can't say enough about this pack and there are only five stars available. I would give it 10 stars it is built that good with obvious quality in mind! Thank you to Direct Action Customer Service who followed up with me to see if I was happy with my purchase and my response was: ABSOLUTELY! Buy with confidence and don't consider any other 72-hour pack. Totally Awesome!!

Rugged
First off, this pack is not "made" in the USA. The materials are made in the United States but it's manufactured in Korea, I think. Sorry, I threw out the tag and don't remember the country. If you want to know call Direct Action. "Made in the USA" was the primary qualifier for my pack purchase. I was very disappointed after specifically asking the Amazon community if this was made in the USA to find "Made in Korea", or whatever it was, right on the tag. I went on-line and got the phone number for Direct Action and called them. A human answered the phone. A human that lives in the next state over from me. I asked this human what the deal was with the "Made in America/Imported" designation. He explained that all the materials are made in the USA. The Cordura, the buckles, the webbing, etc. He said the reason they have the packs manufactured outside of the US is because they found the quality to be so much better than what they could find domestically. So, what does a guy do with such a conundrum? I decided to keep the pack on the premise that the materials are home made, the company is US based, the guy I spoke with was excellent, and the pack is exactly what I was looking for. A bit of a flip flop? Maybe. Buy the pack and I think you'll see why I kept it. The material is bomber, there's no other way to describe it. The multi-cam is excellent. It looks amazing. There are many video's online that show all the pockets and features so I won't bother describing them. I'll just say that the pack has a few different configuration options. If you're replacing your existing bob, get home bag, 3 day backpacker this is a great option. Very versatile and well made.

Good, but not bombproof.
I bought the Ghost about a month ago to use for my job in EMS. The bag will serve the purpose of : carry a spare change of socks and undies, electronics chargers, snacks, daily hygiene items, water bottles, 1" binder, notebook and text book for medic school, and other small this and that items. The bag fits everything with plenty of room to spare. The harness I took off and use it for when I go hiking. The removable pack is amazing, and stores all my odds and ins and serves as a great organizer. DA did it right with their water bottle holders, it fits my bi klean kanteen bottle with room (40oz maybe). The only bad thing I can say about this pack is there is an area above the small mesh pocket on the inside of the main compartment that has torn its seams. The tear is not affecting the mesh compartment, nor the small sunglass compartment, but I fear that it will continue to tear more. Another issue, that aint really an issue, one of the zipper pulls came apart, but I easily fixed with a piece of 550 cord. Other than that, great bag.

it's nice to know it's there
Been looking for a new backpack that I could travel with and use for my EDC items. Been looking and researching all kinds of different brands, but they all seemed to lack one feature or another that I really wanted in a Backpack. I found this back on a review on Youtube, while researching another bag. The Cordura Material feels really strong and durable. It has 2 pockets on either side that are expandable and are big enough to carry my 32 oz Nalgene Bottle. The Outside pocket is detachable with a field organizer inside (though I probably would never use this as a man bag, it's nice to know it's there.) This pouch has a lot of different pockets that are either mesh, or just closable with a hook and loop fastener. There's zippers and compression straps everywhere to keep your gear in place. The main compartment has a laptop compartment (not padded, but still works for me) and a mesh zippered pocket. On the back there is a Hydration compartment with pass thrus for the hose that come out under the handle. This is big enough for my 3 liter Osprey Hydration bladder. there's a waist strap that is removable and can be converted into a gear belt with the attached harness straps (again, probably would never use it in that function, but it's nice to have) The laser cut molle straps feel really durable and are further secured by the added stitching to strengthen them. Oh there's also a microfiber sunglass pocket on the outside of the bag as well. Straps everywhere even on the bottom to hold more gear like a tent, or a sleeping mat. Great bag for the money would've paid an extra 40 or more dollars to get another bag with less features, but would have had to but more things to get all the features of this bag.

Outstanding Craftsmanship
This backpack is super tough and I'm able to store everything I need for a couple days in it. Whether I'm camping or crashing at a friends for the weekend, I can pack all my toiletries and a few changes of clothes. The bag is deceptively sized, the main compartment is smaller than most three day packs, but the bungee cord space between the main and outer pockets is perfect for storing boots or bulkier items leaving plenty of space everywhere else. As far as comfort goes, I've never had a pack that streamlines and fits the body so well, I can tell it was meant for low profile and high speed maneuvering. The company itself "Direct Action" gets a five star rating from me as well. They're a class act and remind of a time when all products and services were dispensed with pride and professionalism. I received a thank you letter from them for giving them my business (they're aware how much competition there is out there) and a free beach tote that actually seems pretty durable itself. Just class all across the board. The only pack you'll find that might be better is over twice the price with not much difference in materials or craftsmanship. Hell of a deal, and amazons price makes it an unmatched bargain.

Perfect backpack for all your gear!
I chose the "PenCott Snowdrift" color scheme for this backpack and it looks great! It's a unique color for a unique backpack and in the short time that I've had it, I've already recieved plenty of compliments from friends/coworkers. It met all of my expectations and then some. The quality and craftsmanship along with all the detail and thought that went into creating these backpacks is amazing. I'm using it for all my duty gear at work/emergency equipment vehicle bag. I was able to fit all the gear I had in my old backpack along with another pack I had, plus a lot more gear I've wanted to bring but didn't have space for. Even though I put so many things into this bag, it is still fairly slim(especially considering everything I have inside of it). There are many different ways to keep everything organized and in a relatively slim profile. I would highly reccomend this bag or one of the other smaller ones (Dust or Dragon Egg) if you want the best of quality. I plan to pickup either or both of the others eventually to use for hiking/edc bags.

And the winner is...!
For me, this proved to be, hands down, the best bug-out / survival / 72-hour bag I have found. As a rookie, I made the number one rookie mistake, which was to purchase a bag (not this one) before compiling all that I would need for the 72-hour scenario. Don't do this. I ordered a 5.11 Rush 12 and quickly exceeded its capacity with minimal gear for a 72-hour excursion. The quality of the Rush series has been well established and that bag was no exception, however it lacked space and weight management capabilities. I ran into the same issue with the Rush 24 (no waist belt). The other issue I had with the Rush series was the 1000 Cordura fabric. It is exceptionally strong, but also thick meaning that when the bag was full, it was truly full. It lacked that 'flexibility' I was looking for. With regard to pockets and organization of all of your gear (fire, filtration, first aid, etc.) all the Rush bags proved exceptional. So it all came down to the Rush 72 and this bag above. Although the Rush 72 held more gear internally than any bag I had tested (including this one), it simply was not comfortable for me once loaded. The Ghost proved to be superbly comfortable, offered adequate room and organizational capabilities and finally, allowed for dynamic customization of its function. First off, the zippers fly! They are easy to grip and never snag. Fit and finish are tough and svelte. While the Rush 72 extended laterally beyond my small frame, the Ghost just seemed to manage the contents in a more controlled way. Next, the wide straps, the air-flow along the center of my back, and the mesh with striated padding were together one of the greatest reasons I ultimately selected this pack. The Ghost just felt like an extension of myself; it moved when I moved, never swinging, and distributed weight expertly. I could go on and on but everyone has already touched on the laser-cut Molle system (awesome), its highly water-resistant construction, the color options, etc. For reference, I am 5'6", 130 pounds, and broad shouldered. When I first shouldered the pack, I was certain it would prove too large, however I found that it is so incredibly adjustable, that now it is as though it was sewn just for my frame. One last thing to add is the care that Direct Action and Amazon took in its packaging. It arrived in a large box, inside of a large Direct Action tote bag, wrapped in a plastic bag. Bottom line is that this bag is the real deal. You want to trust your bug-out-bag as you are counting on its contents to potentially save your life. I have faith in this bag.

Ottimo zaino, estremamente modulare e versatile.

It's really useful and the decent size.
Already done the first 48 hour tour. Size, comfortability and options are satisfying. Waist strap is little big for me. 32 inches. Expensive but enjoying the product.

An Infantry must have.
The daysack it’s self: the main daysack is a decent build and design, it’s good for those going on extended patrols or someone looking to have a decent 72hr bugout bag. The secondary removable compartment: This is the square pouch you see on the front of the daysack, i removed this as I did not require it on there and it was easy and simple to remove, it also could be used as a jacksack for someone who could fashion some shoulder straps as it has female clips on all four corners. The belt: the hip pad that is seen on the daysack can be removed and within the daysack a three point yoke is stored, it can be made into a light weight belt kit. The belt itself has 16 columns of Molle and is a small/medium size (30-32) but seems like a good build but I haven’t properly field tested it yet.
