Almost perfect... UPDATED INFORMATION 8/13/14
We only use AVENT bottles in our home. I really like them, except that they leak! I have read every review possible attempting to find the secret to prevent leaking (I have yet to find a solution). That being said, I will absolutely use them with any additional children I have.Reasons I like AVENT bottles:- Easy to clean. I've hand washed them and used the dishwasher - depending on the space in my dishwasher. The bottles are perfectly safe in the dishwasher, they do tend to become slightly discolored (a light tan-brown). I'm fairly certain that the instructions even say that this happens.- Wide mouth. I like that when pouring formula into the bottle it is wide enough to accommodate the scoop or formula dispenser. I've been told that many other brands are not easy to use with formula because the mouth is very narrow causing a lot of formula to spill.- Price. These bottles are not the cheapest but are much better priced than many other popular brands. I feel as though they are priced in the middle.- Interchangeable parts. I like that I can get these bottles and use them with the sippy handles and sippy spouts to turn them into sippy cups. I also used these for milk/formula storage with the storage disks (which go in the place of the nipple). One bottle can be so many different things for just a small additional price.CONS:- Again, these bottles DO leak. I've both put the bottles together when wet and dry and have noticed no difference. Additionally, I've even mixed the formula and poured into this bottle and it still leaked. I like these bottles for so many other reasons so the leaking isn't a deal-breaker (also, my baby tends to make a huge mess anyway so leaking doesn't really matter).UPDATE 8/13/14:- These bottles leak! I have had the daydream (or night-daydream) of throwing these bottles against the wall when they leak all over me at a 3:00am feeding. I have finally found a solution to my leaking problem - when I use the AVENT Natural nipples (and obviously the Natural nipple rings) on the CLASSIC bottles (with the blue rings) there is NO LEAKING. Additionally, in opposition to the AVENT instructions I used the CLASSIC nipples on the NATURAL bottles there is also NO LEAKING! Mix and match and it will all work!

Avent 9 oz. Polypropylene Bottles
These are my favorite style of bottles. I am lucky in that my son (6 weeks) does not have a problem switching between different bottles, however I love these for several reasons. Right now, he only needs 4 oz. bottles for feeding but the larger size is easier when filling with water and formula...less spills and such. The Avent 9 oz. bottles are nice and chunky. I love that they are pretty wide around and easy to hold during feedings. I also like that they are short and wide, rather than tall and skinny, which aides in feeding. I have the plastic Dr. Brown's 8 oz. bottles, but they are so long! The same goes with the 8-10 oz. Playtex nursers.I love that these are vented, but are not a pain to clean. The bottle, ring and nipple clean up in a cinch. The Playtex nursers, with the drop in liner, are the easiest to clean, but these don't take any longer when I do the bottle washing. The Dr. Brown's bottles come with the blue straw looking piece and then the rubber vent, bottle and nipple. Not terribly hard to clean, but unless you are sterilizing the bottles after each use, I don't see how the blue component gets clean, as I can only rinse it with water.I have never had a problem with these leaking. (Well once, when I forgot the seal ring at a late-night/early hours feeding)I have a variety of bottles that I turn to and I love these for daycare. I think they are easy to bring back and forth and I don't have to worry about any leakage as I would if I were sending the Playtex nursers with the drop in liners. As for gas/colic, I find that if my little guy has gas, he has gas no matter what bottle I use, so I cannot attest to that side of things.Enjoy!

One of the best bottles by far
Great quality bottle. I used this bottle with my first child for a little over a year. These bottles are very durable. I've dropped them, my son has did the same, they were a bit scuffed but they held up. Markings is clearly visible, they don't smudge off or erase even after the dropping the bottle in the street the markings were easily seen. The bottles have half ounce marks and the mm/cc side is in 10mm increments. I never had any issues with the bottle leaking and all my kids easily accepted the nipple on the bottle. This bottle is sold at major retailers and I've actually seen the bottle in a few drug and grocery stores. Only down fall is the accessories that go with the bottle aren't easily picked up in store such as the 6m trainer cup spout/ handles and the sealing disc to use the bottle for storage. Outside of the accessories I never had any issues or complaints about the bottle.Pros1. Wide neck2. Easy to clean3. Sold at major retailers4. Nipples are appropriate for intended age range5. Wide base nipple6. Comes in pink, clear, blue and now the pink/blue bottle has some designs on them7. Three bottle sizes, 4oz, 9oz and 11oz8. With the use of adapters the bottles can be pumped into ( remember to use the adapter ring to prevent leakage if using the adapter )Con1. Adapter ring can be easily lost. YOU NEED THIS RING TO PREVENT LEAKAGE! I have lost one of the bottle's rings myself, rather my child care provider did. Luckily Philips does sell replacement adapters for parents who constantly lose them.My kids were breastfed and with this bottle I do not have any nipple confusion or preference. I can go back and forth easily between this bottle and the breast.
