6 Aqua Pens with Video Tutorials

I I think I have every brand of water brush that has been made. I really like these brushes. The water flows into the barrel and then comes down through the brush. Many other brushes don't do that. The water comes out the side and drips down onto your paper. These brushes have a responsive tip and have worked very well for me for at least a month. I'm not saying that they compare to my spendy sable brushes, but they are great on the fly! I don't understand why anyone would leave a water pen on its side ON their artwork. It seems obvious to me that you would store a water pen with ink in it or water for that matter right side up. That being said I have never had water leak out of my pens into the cap. I do keep them in the plastic sleeve that they came in. All in all I think these are terrific pens for travel. Again, the plastic sleeve that they come in is very convenient for travel and for keeping them organized, right-side up and easy to find in my bag. By the way, Sakura's waterbrush barrel unscrews counterclockwise. I'm not sure why so many we're confused by this. I can't believe people rated these 3 stars because they couldn't figure that out!!

Love these, I use them to paint in my Bible with watercolors while taking notes. The biggest issues I had were staining of the brush fibers with the paints, discoloration of the water from using the paints and forgetting to empty the water so mildew or mold would form. It’s important to empty them and let them dry completely.

They work as expected. I’m not super well-versed in watercolors so I’m not sure of all the nuances of the medium, but they’re brushes and they work and that’s what matters to me at this point. They’re pretty intuitive; you unscrew the brush, fill it with water, put it back together, squeeze the middle to release droplets of water, and get to painting. The wallet that hold the brushes is also a plus for artists on the go. I took one star off because one of the brushes came damaged and can’t be used. However I can just screw that top to a different barrel so I’m not returning it. I imagine it’s just some manufacturing error, so I’m not too pressed about it. Overall a good product especially for beginners to watercolor who don’t want to splurge on fancier brushes yet.

The Water Brush Pens by Chromatek are easy to use and they come in a variety of widths. This set cleans easily and the flow of water from the pens is easily managed. I also love that I don't have to worry about color transfer from dirty paint water as the water inside the pen is always clean. This is my third or 4th purchase from Chromatek and every one has been amazing. The prices are reasonable which goes to show that great art supplies don't have to cost a fortune.

I was not even aware these kinds of supplies existed until someone on youtube used them on a video...and I had to stop and find out what they were called! It's a game changer not needing to have to carry some water and a container for brushes, since it is well contained. Not used them much yet, but I will be! It is a little odd getting used to screwing on the water barrels in a different direction, but hardly a detractor. Just something to get used to.

I have had the pleasure of trying Chromatek's Set of 6 Aqua Pen Painting Brushes & I am thoroughly impressed with how easy they are to use. My skills, on the other hand, are very much less impressive...lol!! Although I didn't have the correct type of paper for this endeavor, I still had so much fun using them & seeing what I could do with watercolors (first time), as I am usually just coloring (using Chromatek Glitter Gel Pens, of course). I watched the tutorials & found them to be very helpful for this beginner & once I get the correct paper I'm sure that I will do so much better & then I will post some pics to go with my reviews on here and on Amazon. They are the best

I have great difficulty opening (unscrewing) the brush and the reservoir apart. The bristle are too stiff, not nice to use.

these aqua pens look great, cant find my old one, so it was time for a new set, they are great with a range of tips
