A first person Gears of War
I recently bought Bulletstorm from Amazon; and are very impressed with this game. Excellent graphics, top notch control, good dialogue and WTF moments with a creative killing system makes this title a must own. Here's my review-Graphics-The graphics in this game are fantastic with some exceptions. Epic uses the Unreal engine for this game if I'm correct. The backgrounds are reminiscent of Gears of War but with much more color though less draw distance perhaps. The gun models look good, each enemy has detail, though at times, I noticed some texture pop in issues on certain levels. One enemy I killed just lay down looking very muddy looking and lacking detail altogether. This didn't happen too often but it did happen quite enough to notice. There's also some issues with texture pop in at times with the ground which looks really bad. But again, it doesn't happen that often.Aside from those minor gripes, the graphics are excellent.I especially liked those "WTF" moments in which you'll see a gigantic creature chase you that's so big it's head can swallow a ship. I'd couple this alongside the likes of Gears of War two in delivering huge bosses. The visuals are sharp and crisp looking and when shooting an enemy, the graphics have tons of impact that make you feel as if your gun has a load of firepower. There's also the character models which look fantastic. The cutscenes are a little less than the in-game graphics and the framerate is noticeably lower; but that's just the cutscenes. The in game framerate is silky smooth and I didn't run into any hiccups. Overall, just a really good looking game and could easily be mistaken for an exclusive title.Sound-I really loved the sound. Kicking someone over a cliff will result in "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" with the actually space of the sound lessening as they drop lower. This game has suggestive dialogue and lots of sexual dialogue littered with lots of curse words ranging from the F bomb, MF bomb, and again, sexual dialogue. The guns sound good. I particularly liked the sound of the shot gun. Also, explosions sound really good as well. The storyline dialogue is fantastic and believable. There's no real music to speak of other than at times some 70's funk will pop up when you enter a club. No complaints in this department.Gameplay-Bulletstorm challenges your ability to kill creatively. I have to admit that before buying this game, I was unsure of a FPS that isn't Battlefield, COD, Operation Flashpoint or Arma etc. But this game has a really creative gimmick that works. In Bulletstorm, you use something called a Leash which looks like a laser whip thingy. It acts like Scorpion's harpoon from Mortal Kombat in the way it pulls an enemy to you. You're also given the ability to kick which works very well. The gunplay mechanics is smooth and I haven't had any issues with aiming. The best part about Bulletstorm is that if you happen to die in game, it's not because you didn't have enough skill, but rather that the Cpu was more skilled. I like the fact that it doesn't have cheap deaths. The campaign is fantastic. I really loved the story and this game definitely has that Gears of War feel to it.Unfortunately, that's all you'll enjoy in this game because the multiplayer is not good and is very limited.Other than that, you have one of the best FPS's in bulletstorm. This game is a must buy.

Too bad
This video game is bad quality. The graphics do not load properly. Very slow on my i7 laptop with 8GB RAM and dedicated video card.

Brilliant, sooo much in the details, BUY IT
Ok, the first 10 minutes were a bit odd as is getting used to any FPS. The intro story seemed a bit corney and the characters seemed a bit dull. After the first hour, I couldnt stop playing. The dialog is fun and the story gets better and better. I find myself killing off the hordes of bad guys as quickly as I can to keep the story moving. I dont know, Its almost like playing a grimy action movies of the late 80's or early 90's. Like if total recal was on a resort island instead of mars. The weapons have "power" to them, the pistol even has enough punch to make some skulls pop. The electronic leash or whip takes only a few minutes to get used to and if you grapple an enemy with it, the fun just gets compounded. Example; a bad guy is hiding behind some rocks as cover, you leash him and he'll fly tward you in slow motion, just go ahead and kick him into a spiked plant. So many ways, so many ways indeed. If you only have a few minutes to play a video game and enjoy shooters, this game in my opinion takes the cake. Eff some Halo. The Bosses in this game are HUGE. The story is fun, the enviroment ALWAYS has some surprises. It is truly a work of art.10/10

Bullet Storm Epic Edition
I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday a year ago because he loves the Gears of War series. When it arrived, I was just going to see if the disc would play ok, and then I got hooked. I gave the game to him (before I could finish it), but he let me borrow it. Then he saw me playing it and he got hooked too! We ended up fighting over the game and who was playing it.Relationship is still good between us, but now he's finished the game and I haven't (jerk told me what happens at the end). If you love the Gears of War series, you'll like this game. There's different ways to kill people and you get skillshots for each kill, which you use to upgrade your weapons or buy new ones. I like the graphics in the game, the story line is good, the main character is funny, and it's fun to get new skillshots. Idk, I love it.I'm studying to become a level designer and I often compare my work to this game (it's my favorite) but sadly my work isn't close to as visually appealing as the levels are in the game.
