I use these often for any recipe that calls for chicken broth. The seasonings are a nice addition and I have to tell you...this makes fantastic clam chowder. I basically fry diced onions and potatoes in a diced bacon and butter mixture and then add two of these containers of broth with 5 cans of canned clams. Add a little thickening and a pint of half and half with your favorite seasonings and you will be off to the races. We have used this regularly for over 10 years. While pricy in comparison to the large 32 ouncers that can be purchased, this is a size I greatly appreciate for many of my needs. I like it for making a quick soup, or a quick sipping broth. I can do that with the large containers too, but I simply dont want to buy/use the large containers all the time. Competitive with local stores, if not cheaper. Obviously bigger containers are cheaper and therefor provide more bang for buck. I will keep a couple bottles of this and some precooked noodles, rice or whatever (shelf stable kind that can sit in my drawer), then I just bring in some fresh bits of food to add to it all.Best by date isnt a hard expiration date. If you bought from the warehouse, you may have a shorter date than a regular purchase. All fine, and all fine well beyond the date. It is not a safety date. Be smart, understand what the dates signify and save a few bucks by not tossing the moment the date rolls over.
