I put off years buying this moisture meter. My purchase was pretty much driven by brand. I did not want to spend the money and put it off for several years putting up cheaper meters that I did not know if I was selecting the correct setting and did not know it the meters were even accurate. I knew that some other inspectors used protimeter as well. I finally bit the bullet and was surprised of how simple it was to use and figure out. I dont have to go through menus and guess at the wood species or anything else. I am also confident of its accuracy as it comes with a calibration tool. Hopefully I will have this one for the rest of my life because of the cost, but im glad that I did it.

It's my first Protimeter meter, I'm not at all excited ... I'm more from Tramex, the reason I chose this combo was because it has a digital displayIt looks good and the measurements I made at home were similar to those of the other equipment, I think it's calibrated correctlyI don't like the idea that every year I have to send it in for calibrationIf anything else happens I'll let you know

Purchased 3 units for technicians. Must calibrate every year.One of the 3 units IR is extremely inaccurate and hygrometer from day one is +- 30% of the other two meters. I’d recommend using multiple meters so if one goes out you have backups and something to compare to on ems jobs. Concrete added kit saves a lot of money where I use to purchase Wagner kits that were one time use and expensive
