I lent them out and they never were returned. Captivating reading about how quickly and pervasively evil can and will take over. Also interesting is how a person of faith can come to doubt the truth. It must be said these are written by a well known and popular religious Christian author. The book can be quite scary at how easily evil pervades a person or town, however, teaches us that faith will lead us if we open our hearts and minds. Excellent series of books. Please note these may be older publishing and lite in print color and smaller print making it difficult for older people to read. I’d suggest larger print if possible as I just bought several for my 83 year old FIL. He is reading but more difficult. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ FANTASTIC!!!! READ THIS!!!!! *by A***Y on March 13, 2010* This is one of those series that I can see people loving or hating. I absolutely loved it. Peretti is a great storyteller and his prose is easy to enjoy. I didn't really know what to expect when I picked this book up. I've heard the name but I never read any of the books. Now, I know why I heard the name. These books, which really put Peretti on the map, are just as relevant now as they were more than 20 years ago. The battle between good and evil is betrayed in an original way that I have not seen anyone else really attempt and do well. For any Christian, this is a must read.Now the other side of the equation is those who will really hate this book. If you don't believe in a spiritual world, demons, angels, or anything other than what your eyes can see then you probably won't like this book. The whole plot will seem ridiculous and far-fetched. To those individuals I can only say give it a chance. Suspend your disbelief for a couple of hours (you'll fly through it) and you will be rewarded with a great thriller where what is at stake is the souls of an entire town.It's great fun!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Powerful *by P***R on June 19, 2024* This series was nothing short of amazing.
