When describing food people use the term “mouth feel.” The only way I can describe this is it has great “hand feel.” It’s solid! As far as compasses go it has everything an avid outdoorsman like me wants/needs to navigate. The only thing I can say as a negative is the fluid inside is a bit thick, and the compass takes a couple seconds to adjust- especially in cold weather. Other than that it’s perfect IMO. I’d buy it again if I needed another one.

Husband does metal detecting. Sometimes old areas lead him deep into the woods. He really likes this compass.

This thing is just awesome. It is of substantial density easy to read has instructions whistle and fire starter. It is in my go bag. It is a necessityin the woods.

so, after opening the box, I see the "miniature" fire starter in it. Not sure if they work, but they are much smaller than shown. Maybe fine, so I am retracting the review showing them not included... they are just tiny. Now, it's all made in China.... too bad. Hope North is accurate.
