For the Price, you simply can't go wrong
I bought four of these. I was able to easily install them on my wifi. As others have said you need to have the room quiet when connecting. The first time I had my TV on and it didn't work. Once I turned my phone all the way up and installed in a quiet atmosphere it worked perfectly and relatively easily. The picture quality is HD and shockingly good for the price. I am able to move the cameras with my phone and PC apps easily. I've been using them for over a week with 0 connection issues. My only gripe, (which isn't really a gripe considering the price) is the microphones. They are what I would consider less than mediocre. If you use the two way talk function you have to turn the mics wayyyy up in order to hear the other person, but when you do that, you hear your own voice in the speaker at deafening garbled levels. I have played with the settings but they still aren't really that good. Often people on the other end cannot understand what I am saying as it just sounds like garbled noise. That being said, that isn't much of an issue for me as I essentially bought these for the video. The video is 5 star quality. The app is a very simple app without any bells and whistles at all but for me that is a plus as all I want to do is quickly view the video and sometimes pan back and fourth. On my phone app I can zoom, however on the PC app there is no zoom function that I can find. That being said for the price of these cameras they are a great deal. I am definitely going to purchase two more after seeing how these performed. Also for those people wondering, I have cameras set up in two different locations using two different wifi accounts. So yes, you can have multiple cameras setup in one app and yes you can have the cameras set up on different wifi accounts. I can monitor two locations with just a couple clicks of my cell phone. For me that is exactly what I wanted.

TETHYS WIRELESS CAMERA
Over the years i have purchased 5 of these cameras, all different name brands and all are different levels of quality BUT all use the MIPC APP. I have NEVER had one issue with any even the cheapest version of this camera. I use these cameras to monitor my dog while at work. I have 4 other outdoor security cameras for the house that use a seperate app. This TEHYS camera has excellent video quality and fair sound. The sound is adjustable on the app speaker/mic and once you get the combination down your good to go. I can clearly hear everything going on in the house. Connecting to internet is a breeze if you have any tech skill at all. Its basic. Router password and scan the QR code. Simple. Adjusting the sound takes longer honestly. The MIPC APP is extremely reliable and includes an alarm function. Most do not. This is great if you have a pooch that may start whining. One or two beeps and they lay down (well mine does) you can add as many of these cameras as you want and select from the app. You CAN choose better image quality depending on your internet but AUTO 1080 is better than expected. For the price it is outstanding and there is NO SUBSCRIPTION to use the app, however a quick add will play before your cameras but honestly what doesnt have adds today thats free. If your considering a camera like this, this is the one to get. This is my second best out of the 5 i have. Next month it could be a cheaper version. Go for it now, well worth it. I dislike amazons brown bags for shipping. Worthless. The old boxes made me happy to pay my prime membership. Delivery was on time Grab this camera if you expect a inexpensive price with quality video and decent sound. THIS IS NOT A 3000$ security system, but for the price OUTSTANDING .There is also two way talk but remember there is a 2 second delay so use it with common sense snd go slow. Camera is also well built compared to others. I have a 150$ camera that is name brand and very very similar to this camera but does not use the MIPC APP so it sits in a shoe box while i use these cameras that do work on MIPC APP and for the price the tethys is better.. The quality difference is marginal TETHYS 👍🔥

Quick and easy setup, software could use some minor work.
I'm not sure about others, since this is my first WiFi enabled camera, but it seems like a fine piece of equipment. It responds well to camera redirections, reliable over the web, and picks up motion of the slightest degree. It's not huge, but not small either - again, not sure about others, so my opinion has little reference. I mounted mine to an old clip-fan mount so I can angle it any way I like. The angle downward is not very steep, more like just below level so the position mounting the fan mount offers compensates for not being able to see down much. It could easily be mounted to an angle block of wood to help see downward more if needed I suppose. However simple, I found the mounting mechanism very easy to manage. It allows for easy removal from the base if you wanted to move it around temporarily. It stands alone on a flat surface just fine without mounting it with screws. Now, the software could use some work. I've seen this with several simple WiFi enabled devices I've used recently. Example1: The options for changing the Audible Alarm (an alarm that emits from the camera, as a deterrent I suppose) were a bit flaky. Once set it added a Bell icon to the main panel. Once I found out what it's for and decided I didn't need that feature enabled, I disabled it, yet the alarm is still present on the main panel. When it's there, it's tempting to hit it, and if done, an alarm sounds although it's disabled. Minor stuff, but not right non-the-less. Example2: There's an enable/disable switch for the motion detection, but it disappears shortly after loading the page, so it appears it's always on. If you don't want it, it's easy to drag the sensitivity sliders all the way to zero to disable it. I've no experience with an add-on memory card or web storage services as I just bought it to keep an eye on my dog while I'm out. I installed mine in the Laundry room near the garage which is pretty far from my 2.4Ghz WiFi router, and it seems like it has a good signal. The firmware update seemed to work fine. It took all of about two minutes, reset, and was back up and ready to go. All-in-all, it's working for me. Update - 1 year later: It's still working, but if you plan to use it while away from home, you will likely be disappointed. First of all, it won't connect through a WiFi extender. Secondly, once it does lose it's internet connection it does not try to reconnect at which point it's done until you get back home and go through the 30-40 minutes of trying to re-establish a connection. Yes, it's that much of a pain. The one I had set up in my vacation home for remote monitoring, disconnected the day I left. For six months it's been sitting, plugged in, but no connection. Think twice. I'm sure there are cameras out there with better software, that actually re-try the internet connection once it's lost.

Honestly a great little camera. Far exceeded my expectations!!!
So the camera itself is phenomenal! You seriously can't ask for more for the price. I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews, but so far I am extremely happy with this purchase. The motion detection is OK. You have to really fine tune it through the app, but once set, it works fairly well. It's something I'm not really planning on using so for me it's a non issue. The picture quality far exceeded what I was expecting. It's crystal clear at 1080. And the night vision is amazing. I can't really say anything about the WiFi because I have it hardwired directly to my router. So I really can't speak to having any connection issues with it. The Alexa feature also worked just fine for me so again, not sure why so many people are saying they are having problems with it. As for the App.... It's pretty straightforward. Didn't have ANY issues getting it to connect and I can monitor the camera from my cell phone at anytime through the app. The settings and controls through the app work very well and there is almost zero lag. The PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) is all done through the live screen in the app and once you get used to it, it's quite easy to use. Im not really planning on using any Cloud Storage so again, not really an issue for me. In all, I'm having a hard time seeing any of the issues I've read in the negative reviews. I'm completely impressed with the camera and it does everything I want it to do and you absolutely can't beat the price.

Great Camera and Very Impressed Considering Price!
I just got the camera but must say I am immediately pleased with my purchase - and purchased another! Here is my perspective. I was in need of a replacement for First Alert cameras that I paid over $100 for a few years ago. Good hardware and still working on LAN but the software, which was less than impressive at purchase, quit working on WAN and I could no longer access the cameras remotely. I cant afford that price for replacements and have been hunting for cameras in the $25 price range for my budget. I had resigned that at this price range I would not have some of the features I had with the old cameras, but still wanted something around the house when I was away as I dont trust my neighborhood. At a great discount I purchased some 'indoor' cameras from BBuy made by te*d. Not sure if I can call them out directly but you get the idea. They have been returned. I decided to try this camera and compared to the big box purchase I would say a night and day difference in quality! So here finally is a brief list of 'better than others' satisfaction. 1. Setup. The setup was easy and the provided directions were clear, informative and straight forward. The competitors directions were lacking and I was able to complete setup simply because of my experience and intuition, this regarding steps I felt were important that were not documented. The Tethys Smart Cam documentation is great and I dont think I could offer an improvement. I will say that it will help to have a QR code scanner on your phone but is not necessary. 2. App Software. Wow, I really wanted to point out that I have tried other cameras simply because the Android app is INCREDIBLE compared to the big box store purchase! As I mentioned before I just got the camera but I have to say the options, interface, stability is a completely different class of product compared to the competition. 3. Hardware. I am so pleased that for the same amount of money I was able to get a camera that has the ability to pan, tilt, has an Ethernet connection and a slot for a micro SD memory card. The competitor product had none of those options - which I accepted I would not get at this price range. Plus the 1080 picture quality is great as well as the night vision - considering its a camera an all...... Motion detection has not been tested, but I can say the software options are so much more feature rich than the competition and I am looking forward to exploring rather than accepting an inferior product due to price. Finally, while this might not matter to most, I still like to be able to get behind my computer and access information about my product. The competition was all and only phone. I cant even use the internet to cancel my account. Much to my surprise after registration I was sent a HTTPS link to access my account and not only that, there was my camera! Incredible compared to the competition. I will admit my browser was not supported but I was provided a link to download PC app/software but have not tried it yet. As with the rest of the product I expect to be pleased. So in summary I can say if you are looking for a good quality camera with a clean and fun user interface you will not go wrong trying this product. Did I mention I got another? Happy shopping and hope this review helps others decide with some confidence.

Works awesome with Alexa.
The camera is amazing for the price! The feed is nearly live with only a few MS delays. I find that impressive! I plan on buying at least another one more for sure. For the price and the quality you just can't go wrong. * Works awesome with Alexa. Just asl Alexa to show the camera live on your Echo show for a quick way to see what is happening. Once you ask Alexa will show your camera immediately. You even could ask Alexa to turn left or right in accordance with your instructions. * Speaker output works fine, it's quiet at first but you can adjust the volume in settings. * Microphone is the same, quiet at first, adjust the volume in settings. * The video can be stored either on a micro sd card or they have a cloud service that you can sub too. * The head does not fully rotate past 340⁰ * Motion detection is very sensitive but makes a funny sound when is activated in alarm mode. * Setup was simple (just don't try WIFI, plug it into the router, it will setup automatically, then just unplug it from the router and put it where you want it) The app might be a little confusing for anyone afraid of a smartphone. But you could download as well from the web to your pc or laptop. * Plus the 1080 picture quality is great as well as the night vision - * Controlling the camera has very little lag time was is fine. * Regarding the cloud if you feal or having your recording up there you could purchase A Cloud Box IP Camera Recording Storage Device, Compatible with Ebitcam MIPC Camera ( the best I tried that works as integrated with this camera is the VIMTAG vimtag s1 cloud storage box ). It will be paid by itself in a few months of use. * SD card recording is great to use an SD card. The card will be formatted and only visible using an app called SDtool from the MIPC website. Just install it and removed the SD card from the camera and place it in the reader on your PC or laptop and the application will transfer everything to the folder that you previously have assigned for. ONLY the recordings are useful if you use this app ( is free and easy to use. * Quality of the video could be set by the APP. * Notice that other applications could be used as well to manage the camera. *-+ Plus has a 1-year warranty. Fast reply from the merchant and warranty activated by email Maybe I forgetting other things to review. The final review is a great camera for the price and an awesome value as well. Enjoy it :) Even actually I have an issue with the camera switching back from the color camera to white/back vision still a great camera and ask for a replacement.

Decent but concerns
I like this camera a lot. I have 2 now. I use them to monitor my cats while I’m at work. The cameras are relatively easy although weird to set up. Good image quality. Silent movement to my ears (my cats notice immediately). My concerns: 1) the camera makes clicks as if it’s cycling through lenses (night vision/regular vision) when I am near the camera but not accessing the camera through the app. I don’t like that because as others have mentioned, what security does this have? I keep a face cloth towel on the camera when I am home. 2) camera gets warm. I mean I know I have that light face wash cloth on it but if I’m not actively using the camera then why is it putting out any heat? Due to the price and ease of use and image clarity I bought my second about a year after the first. But I bought it reluctantly due to the security concerns.

Totes mah goats worth the money!
Update after 2 years of use: Still keeping the rating of 5 stars. For the price, this is a fantastic number. The only drawbacks are, 1. Sound quality it has a clicking noise when listening to the audio that doesn’t change upon moving it or time of day - it remains constant (other reviews confirm this is a consistent issue with the product) 2. Using the talking feature is hit or miss. It’s often delayed or misses words or is jumbled, even when speaking clearly. 3. The renewal of the automatic storage stopped being available after the first renewal, meaning it doesn’t store video anymore. I can only see things in live time. This is still a great product for the price, but after a couple years now, I’ll be upgrading to something a little better quality. Well this little beauty is sweet. It came within 24 hours (thanks Amazon Prime) and in a nice little box and set up was a breeze (iPhone user). Once you download the application via the App Store, the instructions walk you through set up step by step. You do need your WiFi login, and it does not support 5G WiFi. The sound it makes is a little weird during pairing with WiFi/router connecting but it’s temporary, so you’ll get over it, your sleeping newborn- maybe not so much. Once your set up is complete, you can change the settings for motion detection notification and also sensitivity. I tried stealth mode of moving really slow and also trying to play flash lightening and it caught me on both and sent a notification to my phone of said sloth intruder or lightening McQueen in the house. It has a two way speaker so really nice to be able to yell at the dogs or scare the bejeezus out of your roommate. I’m shocked at the picture quality. I was going to upload a picture of myself in it, but the quality is good that I needed a filter- maybe on their next update. Also, kind of cool that nightmode has its own settings (and throwing it back to the 40s with no color to set the Friday the 13th ambiance) so just in case you want to catch ghosts on camera, I’m sure you can set it to Orb sensitivity. Overall, really great quality product and totally worth the money.
