Mayco, Designer Liner Kit, 1.25oz Bottle, Black, SG4011

I’m pretty new to pottery and wanted to try adding more detailed designs to my pieces. The Mayco Designer Liner was super easy to use, even as a beginner. I’ve used it on both greenware and bisque, and the black color fires true—even at cone 10, which I wasn’t sure it would. It comes out nice and bold with no weird fading. The bottle gives you good control, and the lines come out clean once you get the hang of it. It’s perfect for outlining, writing, or adding little accents without needing fancy tools. The only small issue is that the tip clogs pretty easily. Just make sure to clean it after each use and keep the little pin handy to unclog it. Once I started doing that, it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, I’d totally recommend this to anyone starting out or looking to try detailed work without diving into more complicated techniques. It’s fun to use and works really well.

This product is awesome! It doesn’t fade, even in Cone 6 firings. I purchase it to use for test tiles so I could remember my glaze combinations; and it is easy to write with. I’ll definitely be keeping this on hand.

Before firing, you should be careful because the application will be vulnerable to chipping or scraping off easily. Slip trailing

Just made about 50 tiles with this black bottle as my outliner and it worked perfectly. Most people complaining are not reading the instructions. This paint is for bisque to be fired in a kiln, not writing on other random objects. It's meant to have a clear glaze over it before firing -- don't skip this step and complain the paint peels off. The bottle comes with a tiny needle cap that keeps the nozzle clear and works great -- don't skip using this and be sad that your nozzle is clogged. Replace the needle top in the bottle if you are going to stop painting for a few minutes. Follow instructions and this outliner is amazing.

Best glass paint I’ve ever used. I want more colors. Have not had a failure yet. Every piece has come out just the way I wanted it to.

I'm impressed! I used an opaque white underglaze, then the liner and then dipped a clear coat shiny glaze.

Bought this after I couldn't bear using an underglaze pencil because of the squeak to success ratio - all squeak and no success. This liner was simple to use and easy to control. Haven't fired the vase I used it on yet but really happy with the unfiredcresult. Definitely recommend

Love this product, used it on clay work

Great, bought all the colours. However, it's a slightly different texture and thicker than coloured slip or trailing glazes, it can have a raised surface once fired

Thought this product might be just what I needed to outline the decoration of my Clarice Cliff style candle sticks. Followed the instructions carefully and it worked perfectly. My work look great.
