So far this appears to be of good quality. I have not had a chance to use it yet but I'm impressed with it so far.

Nice boning and filet knife very sharp

Sharp and with a comfortable grip, this knife is a must have for cleaning and handling of your catch. Makes the filet process so much easier.

I've cleaned a few thousand fish with this knife while guiding on lake of the woodsin these last three years. I touch it up with a steel everyday keeping the edge sharp only taking it to a stone every few weeks to touch up Nicks in the blade from heavy rib bones. The knife has held up extremely well. The grip is comfortable and provides the most grip out of any knife I've used. The only down side is the texturing in the grip is hard to clean if fish guts and slime is allowed to dry on the handle. Besides that I have zero complaints. I'll buy this knife again and again.

My first Bubba knife. I have been a Rapala fillet knife user for ages as I love the flexibility. However, as I do more offshore fishing I needed a bigger knife, and the Rapala does not hold an edge. This knife is great. Non-slip. Functional case. Sharp. And I was surprised that while not feeling very flexible, it really worked well even when skinning. Can't care ability to hold an edge yet. Very pleased.

Great knife. I probably fileted 40+ salmon this year and it still holds an edge. Cuts through the pin bones no problem even on 20 lb kings. Rib bones are a little difficult and i should pick up a smaller filet knife for them. I even used this knife to butcher part of a deer without sharpening. Very happy with this product.

I purchased 5 bubba knives for work as we do a significant amount of filleting of fish. I purchased 3 of the 9in flex, a 7in flex, and a 6 inch wiffie. Overall, all the knives performed well over the course of the day. We processed about 500 fish of many different species including Carp, Northern Pike, Walleye, panfish, Perch, Lake Trout, Large and Smallmouth Bass and Catfish. The knives did not need sharpening throughout the long day and came very sharp out of the package. The 7 in seemed to be the most versatile, but the 9 performed better on the large Carp (20lb plus) and large Northern Pike (30in or so). The Wiffie was the favorite for anything small including the bass. If I had to choose one size, it would probably be the 7in flex. Having more than one size is preferable if you work through as many different species as we do. Anyway--on to the issue. The coating is flaking off one of the knives (only 1) which is of concern. We didn't sharpen the knives, so the cause is not from our abuse or a poor sharpener. It didn't happen on the other side of the knife or any of the other knives, so it may be an isolated issue. The concern is how much will flake off, and what does the non-stick coating consist of. **SEE PHOTOS** The second star I removed is for poor customer service. I sent an email over a month ago, with my concerns, and have heard nothing. I expected better and had waited to submit this review until I heard back--but nothing so far. Will update if I hear something from someone. ***UPDATE I have heard back from the manufacturer and they were very helpful and replaced the knife. It was determined by the manufacturer that the coating flaking off is an isolated incident. We will see, but I have replaced the star that I removed for poor customer service.
