Don't let the price fool you, these are great quality sounding ear buds for under £60.
This is my first experience of an Anker Soundcore product and of true wireless ear buds. I wanted to use them for a few weeks before reviewing them as I am really fussy with my listening experience, I usually use wired headphones, Byerdynamic, Sennheiser, I researched thoroughly online and read lots of reviews before deciding to take the plunge and buy these Soundcore Liberty Air 2 ear buds and I have to say I have not been disappointed with them. These are really nice looking ear buds and the box they come in is of a really good quality, and feels like a premium product. You get the buds, the charging case, and 7 different sized pairs of silicone ear tips so you should find a size that fits great. 1) Bluetooth Pairing & Battery: I didn't have any problems pairing the buds to my devices, a tablet, phone and an mp3 player. It paired straight away, but you have to make sure once you initially connect the Soundcore Liberty Air 2, you also pair Soundcore Liberty Air 2-L which is the left ear bud. To do this you will get a pop up that says "Bluetooth Pairing Request". It should come up automatically and then this will allow you to use either ear bud solo for phone calls etc there are youtube videos that show how to do this and other reviewers on here have also given very good instructions on how to pair correctly. The ear buds also use the aptx codec so if your device is compatible when you connect to it, it will connect using aptx to give a stable, clear connection. You can swap which ear bud is master and which is slave to even out the battery use as the master connection will obviously use more battery than the slave, but replacing the right ear bud back into the charging case will then automatically switch the master to the left ear bud, then you can remove the right ear bud from the case and continue to listen to music etc. I find this helps to even out the battery use a bit more. Depending how loud you listen to music, the battery lasts quite well. I would say 6 hours is fair and you get 3 more charges from the case. 2) Sound Quality: These ear buds sound great, I was surprised how good they sound for true wireless buds considering I'm used to wired headphones. You have to make sure you have the right size of silicone tip fitted to ensure a good seal in the ear. This way you get a great sound with more than ample bass. The bass is not too heavy or muddy and doesn't drown out the mids and the highs are crisp and clear. Lots of reviews say they find these tinny and not very loud but I don't agree. There is plenty bass and if you use the Soundcore App you can adjust the equaliser to get the sound you want. There are lots of pre set sounds for you to choose from or you can make your own settings. It is very good. They are also very loud. I cannot listen on maximum volume as they are too loud. If you set your device you're using to listen to music at full volume then use the touch controls on the buds to adjust the volume louder or quieter you can make them go very loud. I can't comment on call quality as I only use them for listening to music and I don't exercise with them though I think they would be ok for light exercise and they feel quite secure in the ear. 3) Touch Controls & Soundcore App: I find the touch controls very responsive, and in the Soundcore App you can change the touch controls to your own preference as to what 1 tap, 2 taps, long press do for each ear bud so it's very flexible. You can adjust volume using the touch controls meaning you don't have to reach for your phone every time. 4) Charging Case: The charging case is a nice size, fits into a pocket ok, and the case has a nice textured feel to it and the buds are held in with magnets and the lid has a satisfying close to it. The charging case uses a USB C cable which is short so you will have to be close to a plug to use it unless you have a longer spare USB C cable lying around the house. The case charges up within 2 hours and you also have a fast charge where 10 mins charge will give you 2 hours playtime. Another bonus is you can wirelessly charge the case so if you have a compatible wireless charger there is no need for USB C charging cable though it will take a little longer to fully charge. You also get the choice of colours, either black or white buds though personally I opted for the black as they look really smart and premium. 5) No Ambient Mode: One thing the buds don't have is ambient mode and because they have very good passive noise cancellation, if you are using them outside, you need to be aware of your surroundings as you cannot adjust them to allow outside sound in. To summarise, I really like these ear buds, for the price I actually think they are fantastic, not sure how many others out there have the features, app, and quality sound these have for under £60. I haven't experienced any dropouts, connection has been stable, there is no background noise or hiss that some people have mentioned though I think if you have the latest firmware update on the app you should be ok. I would definitely recommend these but ultimately sound preference is a very personal choice but I think for most people you won't be disappointed with these.

Sound Quality & Easy of Use
The item arrived one prior to the estimated date which is always good. Regarding the packaging, it was a surprise. Smart design, well laid out information and the quick start guide was easy to understand. The are several headphone tips to change for whatever ear size and the charging cable is also really good with a simple strap - to sum up, there is good attention to detail from Anker side. The sound quality is really good (I mostly listen to Hip Pop & some Rock) and I felt that the sound is crystal clear. I am not a technical guy when it comes to describing the sound but I had can tell you is that these ones are a quality product & with the Soundcore app you have tons of EQ settings to make it "your own". Also felt that somehow the Noise Cancellation is really good (my wife hated when I put these ones haha) Super easy to pair with my Phone (Samsung S9) which is something important to be. I had previous wireless earbuds that were a nightmare to pair with each other/with the phone. Now... the only issue so far... I bought these earpods mainly for work usage, to have Teams meetings. It seems that I am having some trouble with pairing with the computer and also sometimes stops recognizing the Liberty Air 2 as the source of "Microphone".. which means, that sometimes they are useless. I already played with Teams settings but I might need to explore more but understand what is really the issue. For the price point (not cheap but not super expensive) these ones are really good, you will not be disappointed.

Better than AirPods? Yes, I reckon so.
My wife and I have had several different wired and wireless earphones (as well as headphones - a separate category) over the years, including a pair of 2nd generation Apple AirPods (not the Pro), but the Liberty Air 2 earbuds knock spots off them all for truly outstanding sound quality and everyday wearability, which comes as something of a surprise to me, as I am a pretty unconditional Apple fan. Unlike most earphones that claim to offer noise cancellation, these really do work, and make conversations comprehensible for both speaker and listener in all conditions, including the most challenging, such as heavy traffic noise and (at the other and even more difficult end of the scale) windy weather when out and about, which defeats most earphones. The battery life is exceptional (and significantly better than the AirPods), the wireless charging case works very well (I’d baulked at the extra cost of wireless charging for the AirPods), and fast-charging really ‘does what it says on the tin’ - ten minutes will easily give you an extra two hours’ use. My wife mainly uses these when out hiking or walking, when she listens to music and podcasts, but also for yoga and Pilates. She finds that the HearID technology suits her ideally, as she suffers from tinnitus, and these earphones actually help reduce the effects of what can be a very bothersome condition. I have used them less often (to be fair, they were a Christmas present for my wife!), but have been borrowing them from time to time since we have been in home isolation as a result of the Coronavirus Crisis, and have been frankly astonished how good they are for making and receiving calls in all that British weather can throw at one! The right ear ‘master earphone’ system was a little confusing at first, but we got quickly used to it (in a few words, the right earpiece connects to one’s iPhone or other smart phone by Bluetooth, and then links to the left earpiece directly rather than separately with the phone). It is recommended to place one’s phone on the righthand side of one’s body, to ensure optimum connectivity, but this is truly not an issue, which I’m pleased about as a left-hander. The app offers you the opportunity to configure the controls as best suits you (whether you want simpler or more sophisticated is a matter of brain power - my poor old grey matter likes such controls to be pretty basic, whereas my wife’s more sophisticated musical ear really appreciates the fine tuning that is possible). The carry case is far sturdier than Apple’s and indeed the earphones feel more solid and less fragile than the AirPods in general. We did have a problem with the left earphone ‘dropping out’ (just possibly as a result of being used in heavy rain, although they have good waterproofing) but they were very quickly replaced by the wonderful Customer Care team at Anker. This is the first time I have ever needed to use an Anker warranty - I’ve never even had to replace one of their lifetime guaranteed cables, and it was a real pleasure to deal with them. No-one else I know who has the Liberty 2 Air earphones has ever had a problem with them, which I can’t say of AirPods or other makes. We had terrible trouble with Bose Sleep Buds for example. In summary, I would be astonished if you could find such high quality earphones at such a competitive price anywhere else. And what’s more, the quality is across the whole board: great build quality, superb sound quality for both music and speech, really effective noise cancellation, easy tap controls, top-end adjustment and personalisation features through the HearID functionality, and a really easy to use and intuitive app. Highly recommended!

Brilliant wireless Earbuds- Best Buy!
To think I was afraid of a phone without a headphone jack! I have used Anker products before- such as Eufy bulbs and other smart products, so when these earbuds were recommended for use with my new phone that doesn't have a headphone jack, I was pleased that it was a brand I know and trust. On delivery, I tried to pair the earbuds with my phone but kept getting each earbud individually. This meant that I could only play music out of one earbud as a time, as you cannot connect to two different Bluetooth devices at the same time to play music. It was a long week, I just wanted to relax with my music and I couldn't figure this out. Online there are lots of YouTube videos for unboxing this product and none really address this issue, but everyone shows the pairing of the buds as a connection to one Soundcore device. I am not the most tech-savvy person, but I get by. Anyway, feeling exhausted with this error, I contacted Anker. I explained I downloaded the Soundcore App, ( a complimentary app for Anker Soundcore devices that has equaliser settings.) but I couldn't hear through both ear pieces, somehow I couldn't pair the earbuds with each other, and then connect them via Bluetooth to my phone. I contacted Anker, the manufacturer and seller for support as after 10 or so attempts, I wasn't connected. Thanks to their brilliant customer service team a lady called Michelle gave me some clear instructions on how to reset the earbuds, so that they should pair as one device. Yes, so there is a button on the base which is a reset. I thought I tried this, but not in the right sequence. After explaining the issue to Michelle at Anker, she gave this fantastic advice: 1. Place the earbuds into the charging case and make sure they are being charged. When you put the left earbuds into the charging case, the left LED light on charging case will flash 2 times which means the earbuds is charging, please also note the right side will also do the same time, when you put it into charging case, the right LED light on charging case will also flash. 2. Keep the charging case open, then press and hold the button on the bottom of the charging case for 10 seconds until the LED indicators on both earbuds flash red 3 times. All the memory data will be cleared. 3. After these, close the case and re-open the charging case or take both sides out of the charging case, the white light on one side will flash quickly, which means it enters pairing mode 4. Enable the Bluetooth on your phone. You can find the device name "Soundbuds Liberty Air 2" or "Soundcore Liberty Air 2-L" on the Bluetooth list. 5. Please click "Soundbuds Liberty Air 2" or "Soundcore Liberty Air 2-L" for pairing, the white light will flash slowly, which means it paired successfully. 6. Then there will pop out a screen with "Bluetooth Pairing Request", just click "Pair" (This step is very important) Please note, due to the chips platform's compatibility, in the bluetooth pairing list the Soundcore Liberty Air 2 is displayed as "connected", and the Soundcore Liberty Air 2-L is displayed as "not connected". In fact, the earbuds are normally TWS paired to work. IT WORKED. I love them. I flip the lid and they connect to my phone. They sound brilliant and with the equalizer settings, I can get the perfect sound for films, music or audiobooks. My product satisfaction is 100%. It seemed like a faff to pair them, but I think it is more my ability than a product quirk. I am pleased with the value for money. It is so worth it. There are hand gestures to change track or use Google or Amazon Alexa assistant, depending on your preference. I use these buds more than any headphones. No tangles. The charger plugs straight into the case and the case keeps the buds protected. You have a wide choice of bud fittings. As someone with anti-tragus, tragus and daith piercings, these earbuds are recommended. Unlike another brand who have ear pods which are moulded and don't fit all ears, these are really comfy. They don't feel like they will fall out and they have allowed me to listen to my music even more than I would with wired headphones. The mic for calls is very clear and I cannot find a fault with them. -The fault I thought I had was user error, but don't let this put you off, the Anker Soundcore earbuds are worth every penny. Plus, if you get in a muddle like me, Anker's amazing customer support team, namely Michelle, will have you on track in no time at all.

Pretty good when it works
Starting with the good stuff: - The charging case and earphones seem well made, and sturdy enough to take the usual abuse of accidental drops. - The earphones are lightweight, and come with a decent selection of earbuds to find an ideal fit. - The main positive is that they sound great. The app has plenty of EQ settings to tweak with, but I mainly like a balanced sound signature (or at least not bass boosted like crazy) and these work just fine for that, and sound good enough at higher volumes. The main complaints I have are that the pairing and charging case seem really inconsistent. Even after the first week of owning them, the left earphone would regularly decide to not pair first time, and later started struggling to charge without being wiggled in the charging case at random until it finally realised it was in the case. After owning them for longer this has become essentially a regular occurrence, where any time I want to use the earphones I'll sit down and drop them in-and-out of the case, and wiggle them around, until they finally pair up properly. It's reached the point now where sometimes they pair with my phone just because I laid the case down on its side. Even after multiple resets of pairing data, and cleaning the case with rubbing alcohol as the troubleshooting section in the app suggests, they'll go right back to struggling the next time I try to use them. I may just be unlucky, but the amount of infuriating pairing issues make any positives completely negligible, and given the price I was hoping for a slightly more seamless experience. If these paired well I'd have no real complaints, but in my case they are incredibly frustrating.

Upgraded to Liberty Air 2 Pro MUST READ
I bought the Liberty Air 2 because of all the YouTube videos and reviews saying they were fantastic. I found the overall sound quality a little bit tinny and not what to I expected. They have a twist and lock feature which is just a pain to use. After a little while I didn't find him that comfortable even though I've tried all the different buds that came with it. I wanted them to sound good which they are to a certain extent, but I wanted premium down quality. I decided to contact soundcore and after some negotiation they upgrading me to the liberty air 2 pro after I've paid the difference in the price. The liberty air 2 pro sound absolutely amazing. Out of the box they weren't that good sounding but after configuring him with the hear ID app and a week's usage, they really do sound outstanding. You must use the hearv ID app to change equaliser as out-of-the-box the sound is quite disappointing. I found that as time goes by they are starting to sound better. They are extremely comfortable, theyvhaven't fallen out and remain quite sturdy. I found the noise cancelling in is pretty good for this price range. There is no comparison to the Sony xm4 headphones but for earbuds this size that you can put in your pocket ,I am pretty impressed. I was going to buy myself some apple airpods Pro for travelling, I not going to now ,as I'm so happy with these. Days were recently on promotion at Amazon for 99 quid, that is an excellentvprice for a product that sounds this good. You have to give it a little time for the earbuds to wear in before they peak in performance. The soundcore customer support has been superb ,better than any other manufacturer I've dealt with. Karen at support really pushed out the boat with technical advice how to get a best out of these. I really don't think you can go wrong with these for £99. The bass is what I like and the bass is very good. I've made several phone calls with this and people can hear me clearly and I can hear them clearly. The phone sound quality really is good, but also what is important is that they are really comfortable, unlike the liberty air 2. Also it depends on the sound source as to how these are going to sound. I found some videos on YouTube sound excellent but some sound terrible. Amazon music sounds excellent and so does Tidal. I am really happy with these liberty air 2 pros.

Really good wireless earphones and a useful app too.
I bought these a little while ago and wanted to spend some time with them to give a truly reflective review. Me? I'm an ex-musician in my mid 50's with bad tinnitus, minor loss of audible high frequencies and several other nagging hearing problems. The Pros: These earphones have a great sound, really great. The clarity is what strikes you first with a logical EQ built into the iPhone app adjusting these to suit my hearing was a doddle. I tried the hearing test included in the app but this left me with unbalanced sound and a right earphone that was louder than the left. It was probably correct but I didn't like the resulting balance. The sound itself was glorious. Earlier this week I walked my dogs along a cliff in blustery conditions and was astounded at how good the noise isolation was. I was listening to a chat show podcast and had no difficulty hearing every word spoken without having to turn the volume up. Unexpectedly incredible. Using a single earphone on the phone is a great too. Halfway through a call I can just add the second earphone into the mix without any confusion or drop of signal. They work really well. The Cons: The fit of these is a little awkward. I have the largest ear buds on them and my left earphone keeps coming loose. It has only fallen out once and this was at home but I'm a little uneasy about this. I would like bigger earbuds. I wish the gain on these could be turned up. I have bad hearing (I know you know!) and I need headphones that go to the equivalent volume of 12 and not 10. Could the app be sorted to accommodate this? It wouldn't be difficult? I suffer occasional connection problems. Really occasional. But just pop the earphones back into the case for a few seconds and they come right back to you. And lastly...... Anker have one of the best customer support personnel I have ever encountered. Michelle (you know who you are) is an absolute angel and she keeps Anker's brand name at the top of my preference list. I needed very little help but could not have asked for better service. You can buy Anker products with extreme confidence. Thanks.

Much higher sound quality than expected
Samsung Adapt Sound shows these to have a surprisingly flat response with just upper bass / lower mids rolled off. Sound quality is very good indeed (much better than regular Airpods) with my usual test tracks being well reproduced (recordings of audio on my Amazon profile) with good deep bass representation, clear mids and an energetic but not too bright or sibilant or harsh treble. Soundstage was limited though at least not completely closed in with some sense of sounds coming from beyond one's ears. The HearID on the Soundcore app which should adjust the frequency response to ones hearing made the sound too bright (treble heavy) and most of the presets other than acoustic sounded unnatural so I stuck with the default Anker soundcore signature. Those with a Samsung phone have access to the built in Samsung Adapt Sound equalisation which does something similar but better in my experience. I can see why some have described these as sounding like an upgraded version of the more expensive and recognised for good sound quality Liberty 2 Pro. The bass kicks. Vocals sound more natural. Cymbals shimmer with life. Even in the quietest portions of tracks I haven't been able to make out the white noise some have mentioned. Hiss is not present or at least not noticeable below 14khz - in fact one can sometime hear hiss from the original studio recordings themselves as one track ends and the next begins so if there is hiss it is at a level below which some studios tolerate. Male vocals are further back than my reference x400bt and female vocals can on occasion sound thinner with occasional sibilance however this is just nit picking at this price (£65 with a voucher). They come alive when played at moderate to high volume with slightly less bass and detail at lower volumes - while you can get emotional impact by raising the volume this is not great for one's hearing! Instrument separation in bass heavy tracks can be a little less than with the more expensive and 'audiophile' Liberty 2 Pro with the bass slightly reducing the clarity of mids however overall I prefer the bass impact and more natural and realistic sounding vocals of the Liberty Air 2. Unless very quick to double tap these can be treated as 2 single taps which in my case means the volume is increased 2 notches rather than skipping to the next track. Furthermore volume change via touch control is in the usual increments rather than the smaller ones one can configure with Samsung sound assistant so this can be jarring. Although the sensor has seldom missed registering a tap the speed with which one has to double tap is my only gripe since it makes for a less relaxed experience. Just like in the rest of the audio world stars rise and fall so value can be found in the waning stars. Usually technology improves the quality of sound reproduction. In this case the old guard actually sounds better to my ears overall than the new - at least when compared to the more lauded Liberty 2 Pro - the newest Liberty Air 2 Pro does edge the Liberty Air in bass depth but that is twice the price. The Liberty Air 2 was £120 9 months ago but at £65 it is to my ears something of a sonic bargain if you can live with the double tap issue. Pictured with some other TWS earphones for size comparison.

Compralos.

Sound core Liberty Air 2‘s Review After 18 days of frequent use this is my review. Pros: - Very Comfortable: I’ve been wearing them for hours at a time and never once felt “ear fatigue”. - Great fit: They haven’t fallen out once, and I run & cycle daily. I use the biggest tips provided and they fit perfectly. - Sound quality: For the price, they perform exceptionally, bass is good, not to overpowering. Before I was using regular wired apple headphones and this is a definite upgrade. - Noise cancellation: These headphones do not have any active noise cancellation, however it’s isn’t necessary. As long as they fit well YOU CANT HERE A THING going on around you. My wife can back this up. - The case: Small, slides in and out of my pocket easily, I like the flip lid, and it’s good quality. - The Soundcore App: With the app you can change the Equalizer for the headphones, which I recommend. You can customise the touch controls, which I also recommend. - Touch controls: Very responsive, they even work when I have my waterproof gloves on. - Bluetooth: Connects automatically to my phone within a few seconds, not once lost connection. - Battery life: They haven’t yet run out of battery, I charge the case every few days. - Design: They look great, love the red detail. They look and feel great. Cons: Its actually very hard to find any cons with these headphones. The only I can think of (when pushed) are: - Hiss: A VERY VERY MINOR amount of “Hiss”, which for me is not hiss at all, more of a very slight humming/static/blue noise. Comparable to when you have loud speakers turned up full volume but aren’t playing music. Some people said it completely ruined the headphones, I know the Soundcore Liberty 2 Pros were getting allot of hate for having “unbearable hiss”. For me it’s totally normal and a VERY SLIGHT noise. You get used to it after a few days anyway, I feel like I wouldn’t have noticed it if other people hadn’t commented about it so much. Also Soundcore have said they will replace any faulty headphones, so it’s just a case of returning them. - Bluetooth: Very occasionally only one the headphones connects to my phone. So I just put both of them back it the box and reconnect them then it works. Not a problem at all, almost every Bluetooth device I have owned has occasional connection issues. I really can’t think of any other cons. I researched for a long time which wireless headphone to buy, watched lots of videos, read lots of reviews and eventually decided on these. I haven’t once regretted my decision. For the price I paid I am extremely happy with them. I could never go back to wireless headphones after these. I can honestly say that the Soundcore Liberty Air 2's are the best headphones I have ever owned. I am a very active person, I run and cycle daily and they fit my needs perfectly. Thanks for reading, I hope it was helpful.
