This is to hold two mattresses together. The strap goes along the side of the mattresses, not along the top. If you are using it to make a King sized bed out of 2 twin beds, then there is NO need to put it on top of the fitted sheet. Just put this strap on, then proceed with using KING sized sheet set. I use a king sized mattress pad to help give it a whole bed feel (no feel from minor gap), then usually a mattress protector or extra fitted sheet just because. HOWEVER, I used this specific strap for use in putting together TWO full sized beds, and yes it is plenty long. We have the two beds pushed together to help accommodate my husband and I, as well as our 2 large dogs. Since we can only use full sized sheets, I put this strap around the fitted sheet. It does not interfere with anything, and noone sees it. Since this is a clip style, it is very easy to undo as needed. Changing out the sheets is not too much of a hassle. Adding this strap in really makes a difference in how the beds stay together. No a big deal if it is just a couple of humans, but with the dogs mostly sleeping in the middle of bed, the mattresses would separate. Then I would end up with two dogs sleeping on my mattress and my hubs getting a full sized mattress all to his own. Now with the strap keeping the mattresses tight together, there is no shifting, and now we are better distributed across the bed. Dogs still like to smoosh up on me, but at least they arent falling into a crack.

Easier to install with 2 people. We used it to connect 2 twin XLs to make a King. We put a strap around box springs, and a second strap around the mattresses, with the pad cover to fill the space between (separate order) With a mattress pad and sheet over top, you cannnot feel the gap. Even lying in the middle.

Strap is made to circumvent the mattresses to keep them together. If you have a metal framed mattress, then it'll work find. But on foam mattresses, the foam collapses too much and in my opinion, will cause the mattress to deform. When it does deform, the belt comes loose.

Took 2 minutes to install and have worked for the past 2 months. It’s a big white strap that goes around the two mattresses. If you use two sets of twin sheets, you can see the strap because it goes on top of your fitted sheet. That’s less than ideal.

Good heavy duty strap. When I first bought I thought it was too big because I didn’t realize it goes around the bed and not over the bed. Once I realized that it fits well and worked perfectly. Used it to put two xl twin memory foam mattress together.
