Short and sweet, helpful with the basics. Would recommend to residents about to enter the job search.

I bought this book as a resident, about to sign a contract for my first attending position. I found this book worth every penny. I learned more from this book than I did from my contract review lawyer that cost 4 figures. Quick read, entertaining and applicable anecdotes and stories. I would recommend this book to anyone about to graduate from residency.

Everyone who does not have much experience with practice evaluation and contract review should read this book. I read it on the flight to one of my interviews and it proved to be very helpful when I discussed the practice with the interviewer. It does not go into great depth but it gave me just enough to understand the terminology and ins and outs of how a practice works, as well as types of contracts.

I agree that there is a lot of useful information included in here. From personal experience, however, my prospective employer was taken aback by the information that the book recommended I ask for because they were not 'commonplace requests'. Caveat emptor: some of the advice may not be practical based on your specific situation. You really have to feel it out.

I would recommend this book to any physician looking for a job in the healthcare industry. Very well written, easy to understand, concise (under an hour of casual reading), very practical and written by someone who has extensive experience in the field. A absolute must have.

Excellent primer. You still may need a lawyer to review your contract, but this book is worth its weight in gold!

Very useful poignant points in there. I am very glad I read this book prior to investigating job opportunities. I recommend it
