I recently turned 30 - and I think now is a good time to start exercising my mind more.This book is great for that - has a great variety of games and puzzles that really get you thinking. I actually learned how to play sudoku for the first time with this book!After spending 20 mins with this book, I feel like I had a light workout. Gives me a great break from social media.The level of difficulty ranges throughout the book, so there are definitely some challenges in here too, and if you really can't figure something out, all the answers are in the back.I've been bringing it everywhere with me so it's doggie-eared now, but I ordered it brand new and it arrived in perfect condition.

I love the Brain Games series because the variety of games is more interesting and a better workout for your brain...rather than a book with all the same type of puzzles like crosswords, word search or sudoku. Some of the puzzles are rather easy, and some can be rather tough, but I guess that really depends on the individual. I have found that some of the puzzles could use a better explanation or a more helpful starter clue. If the rules are vague, I just ask someone to look at the answer in the back of the book and clarify them for me. I also prefer these puzzle books over puzzle magazines because the paper is thick enough for all the erasing that you might need to do along the way, Hint: a good way to keep your memory fit is to keep trying to recall the items in the memory puzzles even after you finish them. Overall, I recommend the Brain Games series. Honestly, my brain feels less foggy from all the different challenges.

My brain hurts. These are nice time wasting puzzles that should keep you entertained and are a nice alternative to screen time. I don't love the binding, it doesn't exactly line up so some pages start falling out, great concept but poor execution.

Grab a pencil (with an eraser)- I like sticking a mechanical pencil into the spiral for safe keeping. I keep a binder clip and a sticky note pad with this spiral bound book. I use the pencil so I can make adjustments as I work through a puzzle. I use the binder clip to hold my page and to keep the sticky note pad with the book. I use the sticky note pad for additional spot to work a problem, to take a note, or to use a sheet to bookmark some other page. Plan to get actively involved with this book. That being said,This is a great book to have on hand to give your brain a workout.It begins with an informative read on brain fitness, and how to protect and enhance it. It talks about the different ways to engage the brain and to stretch it and give it a good work out.Next section provides a way to "assess your brain" which is a quick questionnaire to help you to figure out how your mind works before even beginning this puzzle book.The remainder of book includes a whole host of challenges, from easy warm ups to more difficult activities. You will find Mazes, Cryptograms, Sudoku, Cross Word, Drawing, Word ladders, Search a Word, and others that I don't know what to call them, other than they are interesting and challenging.These puzzles address areas of thinking such as: Logic, Language, Planning, Attention, Visual Search, Analysis, Spacial Reasoning, General Knowledge, Creative Thinking, Memory, and Computation. Each puzzle lets you know what areas it is addressing.There book is organized into 5 levels. Level 1 includes warm up activities like easy mazes, but I found some of the puzzles within that one to be challenging, and some of the higher level puzzles to be kinda easy. So I think one could start wherever they want in the book, and do whatever looks interesting in that moment. There will be some that will stump you, and some that you will fly through. It will depend on how you tend to think and how you might need to be challenged.In total, there are 168 puzzles in total, with complete answers available in the back of the book.It is a nice book to carry as it isn't too big (roughly 9.5" x 7.5" x .75"). The spiral bound book is easy to handle, and works great as a pencil holder.

Can’t wait to try out these puzzles on our trip next month! There’s different levels and a ton of different puzzles.

Pretty easy

My OT highly recommended this book for improving my decking memory. I am not a fan of games so it’s not my favorite thing to do but since the doctor highly recommended this, I feel 5 stars is worthy.

I bought this book with my husband’s account. There are already a lot of reviews so this will probably get lost in the mayhem, but I would like to share what I wish more book sellers would ‘show and tell’ about their puzzle books, such as pictures of random pages and how many of each puzzle type is in the book so you can make sure you do not end up with a ‘variety book’ filled with a hundred crosswords and only a handful of the more interesting ‘outside the box’ puzzles.With my rough count, there are about 215 puzzles in the entire book, which is about 170 pages. There are about 7 memory puzzles, 12 crosswords, 13 cryptograms, 13 mazes, 13 sudoku puzzles, 14 mathematical puzzles, 18 word searches, and a vast selection of other interesting puzzles.Overall, I think this is a wonderful book with a true assortment of fun puzzles that range from easier to harder as you go along. The spiral binding is a definite plus as you don’t have to worry about holding open the book or folding back the pages to keep it open. The book also has a clear and large font on big pages. I recommend this book to anyone who loves pencil and paper puzzles, especially fans who are looking for some more challenging puzzles.
