Details are sharp and rich, though the overall sound is reserved in nature, cold and concentrated, not loud and proud, I suspect that this aspect is potentially a deal breaker for some. but what really stands out is the bass. When listening to well produced music, the bass is able to trick my brain into thinking an earthquake is happening (not joking). The bass measures twice, cuts once and is capable of invoking an uncommon neurological response. I was listening to Sunday Morning by Zilched when the S8’s arrived, and I was finding my FiiO FH-7’s overwhelmed by the bass, but the S8’s handled the heavy bass and reverb just fine, and the clarity on the high end is incredible. Of course, headphones need a little break in time, so in a couple of weeks I might edit this review a bit. But amazing sound out of the box for sure. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Great detail, but some serious flaws *by F***S on March 2, 2021* Pros: Amazing build quality Very clear detailed sound Excellent imaging Above average soundstage Handles busy music with ease Good bass and treble extension Great fit with above average isolation Cons: Mids are a little recessed Bass is primarily in the lower register, leaving upper bass and lower mids sounding thin (This includes a lot of commonly used lower register instruments and male vocals) Cable and accessories are lacking for this price class There is no filter to prevent wax/dust from entering the ports There is no vent, which causes pressure build up in ear canal I would recommend these to anyone looking for a highly resolving earphone with a very analytical sound that has a sensitivity to bass. A good alternative at this price is the Thieaudio Clairvoyance, which exhibits a lot of the same sound qualities plus has a dynamic driver that produces proper bass.
