Minimalism doesn't deserve sketchy, on the surface advice.
The minimalist lifestyle is one not to be taken lightly, on a whim or embraced as a trend. A minimalist lifestyle is one that takes a lot of soul searching, a lot of sacrifice and a lot of self awareness. That said, I was disappointed in the somewhat simplistic way minimalism was addressed within this book. The skimming over of the difficulties minimalists face every day we're all but absent and a great deal of the content was sketchy at best. Re-worked, this has potential But now, it only skims the surface of what easily could be the most difficult decision any individual can make within their lives.

Good in theory
Short book offering some good ideas and theory on minimalist living, but was sorely in need of editing. Writing was choppy and should have been better organized. Each topic could have been explored in more depth. But overall any tips taken from this book would be helpful for anyone looking to simplify.

nice, but too general.
This "book" was barely long enough to be a magazine article. I can't disagree with what was said, but there were no original ideas and too few details to be usefully instructive.

Not enough
Great idea not enough information, the author should have gone into greater detail, but instead kept to minimalist writing. Had some good tips

A minimalist book on a minimalist lifestyle
I'm not sure if this really classifies as a book. This is an extremely short paper on some very high levels of a minimalistic lifestyle. Most of the examples are around simple tech gadget reductions. If the idea of minimalism is new to you then this could be a good quick first or second read on your lunch hour. Don't expect much from the book, just take it for what it's worth.I personally used my monthly Amazon Prime read on this book. I wish that I had used my monthly allotment on another selection.

Basic info but great resource
Basic info but in reality... simplifying your life is for the best. Too much stress, drama and materialistic items can really make a difference.Short book but filled with useful information. The author's writing style was simple, easy to understand and made for a fast read. The division of topics was great and kept things in order. Looking forward to reading more by Jason Semmel.

Several misspellings and grammatical errors!
I found several of the ideas in this book to be contradictory to the minimalism lifestyle. I would not recommend this book to others.

This only got one star as I enjoy the subject matter of minimalism
This only got one star as I enjoy the subject matter of minimalism. This book however is dire. Badly written and patronising to the extreme. I didn't get beyond the "if you are the principle breadwinner then you can impose your views..." (paraphrased). Annoying, ignorant and insulting. There are far better books around, Try The life changing magic of tidying or look at The Minamalists blog. Don't buy this.
