fun for kids and Farmville/Sim fans (warning: NO autotsave)
First, and foremost, there is NO auto save or obvious save feature on this game- in order to save your farm, you HAVE to press the "+" button and choose save. My daughter lost three hours work and her entire farm assuming that this game had autosave (like most games) so don't make the same mistake! Here's the general review: We were lucky enough to get a Wii U shortly after Thanksgiving, but after a week or so of playing nothing but Nintendo Land (and my seven year old daughter mastering all those games and begging us to play with her) I wanted to get a game that she could play on her own that also took advantage of the Wii U capabilities. I managed to catch "Funky Barn" when the price was much lower (29) so I decided to go ahead and order it.So far, she loves it. She's played for a few hours and is steadily building her farm. It's sort of like a mix of Farmville and Sim City- and as your farm grows and your animals grow, they need more and more from you.Don't get me wrong- this is not the game that will show you how amazing your Wii U's capabilities are. It's basically a DS game that's been quickly ported to the Wii U, and the majority of game play is the same on the Wii U touchpad as it is on the TV screen. But my daughter really feels like it's something great since she's using the touchpad constantly with the game and she's seeing the "fruits of her labor" (no pun intended) on the TV screen.I would never pay $50 for this game. But for 30 or so, I think it's worth it- especially now, when the Wii U is brand new, there aren't very many lower price games for it, *we* don't have many games for it, and it's a good game for solo play for kids or anyone who likes simulation games. It's actually very cute, and easy to master, but challenging enough that my husband has started collaborating very intensely on the layout of the farm.If you can get it at a lower price point, I would highly recommend it.

ehhh...it's ok!
Like the other reviews I was not that impressed & agree with their assessments of the game. Though I read through them before purchasing I had hopes that it wasn't as bad as it was made out to be... unfortunately it was false hope. The game itself is actually fairly fun & addicting besides the incredibly annoying random tornadoes. You have to set up these huge storm-diverters at all corners of your farm if you dont want the tornadoes taring through everything you just built. Its super annoying to say the least and I really wish you could turn them off! Maybe I missed it in the initial settings, not sure. Besides this issue yes there is a glitch that freezes up the game. I honestly didnt care, I just restarted the game & went back to my farming. However toward the end of the game when you unlock the final animal (buffalo) there is no information on what to do with them. Every other animal comes with a machine or some kind of tool in order for you to sell what they produce to keep running your farm. Well the buffalo just grew huge and there was nothing in the inventory nor any info on what to do with them...a little frustrating bc. there is literally no info online either. Now the game itself like mentioned before was addicting regardless of all its short-comings but that being said...I beat it in a few hours. My children played awhile & became bored because it wasnt enough like Viva Pinata to them which we thought it might be originally. Altogether my honest opinion is that this really should have been like an app on the iphone, android tablet or even Facebook & not worthy of being a console game...and most def. not worthy of costing more than 5-10$. So just save your money & wait for this to show up in your Wii store sale section in a couple of months for way under Amazon costs.

The short and sweet of it...
The game is overall very fun and creative. However it does have some pretty major setbacks... - Very long, unskippable cutscene. Essentially no excuse for this considering how easy it is to implement a "Push button to skip function"... - Game freezes on occasion... Save often! - VERY little content. You essentially have 3 difficulties to play two different game modes (the main game and a short campaign). My son and I both enjoyed the game, but it could really use more content and less 'cut-scenery'.

Cute but freezes frequently
I didn't have high hopes for this game based on other reviews, but my 7 year old REALLY wanted this for her birthday. She plays Hay Day on the ipad occasionally, and wanted something similar for the Wii U. The kids wanted to like this game, but it is glitchy. It freezes A LOT! And if you forget to save, well...your time feels wasted. But as I said, I didn't expect much given the reviews. What we have seen looks very cute and fun, but it doesn't last because of the freezing issue.

Playful game for addictive fun.
A great game that is enjoyable and addictive. Mind you, not everyone likes farming games and if you're looking for a Wii version of Farmville, you won't be happy. If you like playful games with a bit of challenge in the planning and the play, go for it. As my farm got bigger and higher level, I found fun surprises as I went and had to learn to plan ahead to make everything work out. Not quite a 5 star game, but definitely worth the price and time.

Not Bad but...
I bought this game thinking it might of been like a FarmVille type of game. Although the game has some of the same aspects as FarmVille but very different. There are 3 levels in this game easy, medium, and hard and the object of the game is to turn a failing farm around into a successful one in each of the 3 different modes. The game is a good time waster but not something that you will play consistently and a regular basis.

I good farm simulation game
If you are looking for a fun farm simulation game for your Wii U you have just found one. I paid around $40 for my copy but only because I really thought my younger daughter (15) would like it. It turns out she didn't, but my oldest daughter (19) loves it. I think $40 is a little high. It fits more in my $25 class of games.

Its fun...for a while
I got it for my 3 year old. It was too difficult for her. But my 10 year old had fun with it. But when your farm gets too big, it gets overwhelming and not as much fun anymore. We played it a lot over a few days and then gave up.
