better than other cameras on Amazon, but still could be better.
After having a bad experience with a couple of other rearview cameras I found on Amazon, I bought this one because it has the auto-light sensing feature that other cameras with LEDs won't have. In reality, all they did was took off one of the LEDs at the end and replaced it with a light-sensor in its place. It would cost them less than a penny to make this change so in theory, there shouldn't be any reason it should cost more because it'll cost them exactly the same amount of money to add this feature. I'm really happy with the fact that the camera casing and the license plate that came with the camera are made out of some kind of metal, I want to say it's some kind of tin or aluminum alloy, instead of some cheap plastic. That's a nice surprise. The picture is high quality, nice and clear but pretty typical of other cameras that you can find on Amazon. Everything else from the circuitry, the wires provided, the installation process, it's all exactly the same as many other cameras in the same $20-50 price range. Due to the fact that I had bad experiences with other cameras I've bought before, I wanted to see what's inside this one so I took the camera apart (really easy, just a few screws, it's very similar to the others that cameras I've bought). What I have found is that the entire camera module is first tacked into place with a bit of hot glue, and then they inject this gray epoxy filler through a fill hole through the case to encase the whole thing in epoxy. This is the reason why they make it all water and dust proof and qualify for IP68, but the problem is, something went wrong in the piece that I got. The epoxy wasn't mixed right and quite a bit of it wasn't cured and still liquid. I've uploaded a picture of what I found inside. You can tell that the left side is just a wet goop, the bottom looks like that too, also wet. There are deep voids between the LEDs and the camera module and the voids goes all the way down to the circuit board, exposing contacts and components on the board. This tells me that there is no way this particular unit could remain waterproof and it will fail. To me, this is unacceptable so I will have to cut out the epoxy and refilling it properly to really make sure it won't leak or have condensation build up inside. This is the reason I will not give it a 5*. I feel like a 4* is pretty generous already but I know this is already better than many other cameras on Amazon that are getting 4.5* ratings despite being actually worse quality than this. It's a shame because it's a good product, if only they have better quality control.

Good unit. Very reliable. Cool light feature
Straight install. Nice metal frame. On my car when the doors are unlocked the LED on the camera turns on to illuminate the tailgate. love that feature.

"Upgraded" Version
So I'm not going to get in to the install too much because everyone's results may vary, but for my application in my 2007 Silverado 1500 Classic, the instill was not terrible. The "most difficult" part was figuring out the reverse light positive wire. I got the upgraded Version because of the longer video cable and there was probably 10 feet more than I needed. The picture quality seems pretty good considering the price, sorry for the glare in the photo, that's my fault and not the camera. I've yet to test the night vision capability or water residence so I will update this review accordingly as I'm writing this the same day I installed Sept. 18, 2021. Update 09/27/2021 So it's been light drizzling for a couple days and no change in performance from this camera. So far I'm still pretty pleased.

Not Worth It.
I would give this zero stars if I could. The camera isn’t necessarily bad, but you need some sort of electrical experience to wire this up- IT IS NOT PLUG AND PLAY- and by the time you’re done installing it, there’s really no reason to uninstall it because of how much work it would take. The instructions are INCREDIBLY VAGUE (attached image for head units), you most likely will have to take apart your car to wire it, and the camera angle is not good. The lights on mine don’t even work, but as mentioned, it’s not worth uninstalling and my backup lights get the area bright enough.

Works good. Missing screws,washers
The unit was pretty easy to install. You have to use the backup lights fixture plus and minus wire. They don’t give you a long enough wire to go to the front of the vehicle to connect the camera power. I had to drill one hole for the license plate wire and all went well. There were parts. ( washers, screws ) missing from the box. Luckily I have extra parts laying Around The instructions didn’t explain that you have to tighten the set screws to secure the rotation of the camera bar. There is a very small Allen wrench that is included to set these screws. It’s enclosed in a very small plastic bag. The led lights work well. The picture at night is very clearldez(s. Sturdy unit and well built. Great bright photo
