Perfect Lunar Views Without the Glare – High-Quality and Easy to Use!
I recently purchased the Celestron 1.25 inch Moon Filter and I have to say, it’s an outstanding product. If you enjoy lunar observation, this filter is a game-changer. The biggest challenge with viewing the moon through a telescope is often the harsh glare, which can wash out details and make the experience uncomfortable for your eyes. This filter completely solves that problem. Once fitted, it’s immediately noticeable how much softer and more detailed the moon appears. The craters, maria, and ridges are much clearer, and you can comfortably observe for longer periods without straining your eyes. The filter is very easy to fit into standard 1.25-inch eyepieces — it feels solid and well-made, not flimsy at all. The build quality is excellent. The glass is clean and the black metal housing has a nice, sturdy feel. I’ve tried cheaper filters before, and they often distort the view or feel cheap, but this one is professional-grade and really makes a difference. Overall, if you want to enjoy the moon in all its glory without being blinded by glare, the Celestron Moon Filter is an excellent choice. Easy to use, high quality, and highly effective — it has become an essential part of my lunar observation setup.

Works for ALL 1.25" eyepieces (all brands, makes, types). Cheap plastic, but does what it's supposed to do.
This works with ALL 1.25" eyepieces (all brands, makes, types - at least made within the last couple of decades or so...). No need to ask for your particular telescope, the silver tube at the bottom of 1.25" eyepieces has a thread where you fit filters. I was puzzled by some people claiming it does not fit the "Travel Scope" eyepieces and could not figure out what they mean (see image bellow, the filter threaded on one of my Travel Scope's original eyepieces). Then I noticed someone answering a question mentioning that it won't fit because the eyepiece instead of a thread has only a "rubber flange". Well, it seems he is trying to fit the filter on the top part of the eyepiece! So, it does what it is supposed to do, it darkens the moon, although it gives it a greenish tint which I don't particularly like, but most moon filters give a color tint anyway. It is a poorly made plastic that holds the filter, so they could not have been cheaper when making this, and it's a shame, but I can't say it will break easily or anything like that. Oh, don't just go out and buy a moon filter if you don't actually need it - make sure the glare of the moon does bother you first. And a little hint: sunglasses also work, just remember to take them off after viewing the moon ;)

Well worth the few pounds
Quality moon filter. Some complain that it comes in just a plastic sleeve but my old one came in a jewel box that was thrown away the next day! Can not understand the threading problems some report as I've threaded this onto the eyepiece (the REAR end -not the bit you look in) and a dozen times it screws in and out perfectly - never over tighten any filter. Nice on Jupiter too and allows you to see some banding that would otherwise be lost in glare. High end filters of all kinds can be bought for this hobby costing 100's of £ but for casual use and beginners this is a good cheap buy that does a decent job.

Ok
This is a good filter for its price. You're not paying that much, and it does reduce the brightness of objects, whilst also improving contrast. It also fits in well to my Celestron 1.25" lens. As a beginner, i didn't want something too expense as i didn't know if i would needed. I would HIGHLY recommend buying a filter, the glare of the moon (the first thing most beginners will look for as it's easy to spot) is far too bright to be able to look at for long periods of time. However if you are a beginner and want a cheap filter i'd get this one instead "Light Blue 1.25" Telescope Filter - (73% transmission)" Type it into amazon and it'll come up. Not only does this fit my lens equally as well, but it's got a wider aperture and better transition. Not only this but it is better for looking at other objects such as the planets and doesn't give an unpleasant green tinge, but instead a more subtle pale blue tinge. Plus it's only a few extra pounds which are well worth paying. If you're serious about astronomy, and have spent in excess of £500 on a telescope, i'd say don't cheap out on a filter, it's worth paying the extra as there's no point spending all that money on a brilliant telescope to have the image ruined by a poor filter.

Must have for all planet and lunar observers
Really great filter kit. A must have for observing planets and the moon especially good for refractor users as the filters nicely eliminate false colour to a large degree. Using the correct filters as detailed in the accompanying manual really brings out breath taking detail on the moon usually lost in glare and Jupiter and Saturn cloud belts are much more detailed. Give them a go, you don't know what you been missing without them.
