The diameter on the poaching rack is 7.25 inches. **Q: Will the metal on this poacher rack will harm the non-stick of the pot or pan I put it in?** A: The metal legs don't move when you put it in the pan so I wouldn't think it would scratch as long as you are careful. The edges are of the rack are smooth. I use it in a regular pan so I can't say for certain. **Q: how much time should i cook the eggs in an instant pot, for a soft cooked poached egg?** A: It will vary. On many things. Age of eggs. How many you're cooking for a couple of factors. Plus you'll need to experiment a bit. If cooking 2 to 3 eggs? Start at 6 to 7 minutes. Try 6 minutes first to see if that your desired doneness. No more than 7 minutes though for 2 to 3 eggs. If you're cooking more than 3 eggs? Use 6 minutes maximum because the more eggs the more heat generated and the less time needed. Try these suggestions out and see how they come out. I would still lightly spray the cups with spray oil. And do not let cooked eggs sit in the cups when done. Gently, very gently remove and serve them. Try this. You may need to adjust a minute one way or the other, but this should be a good starting point and guideline. At least that's how I read the email for feedback from Amazon for this product. It met my eggspectations. Haha. This product cooks up to four perfect and delicious poached eggs, with the instructions provided with the pack, consistently. The frame is light, so when combined with the egg cups, is easy to maneuver with oven mitts. I believe there's an element of stainless steel, so this egg poaching set will have quite a bit of longevity in the kitchen (we'll see).
