Over 21 days, first at Twickenham Film Studios and then at their own brand-new Apple Studios, with cameras and tape recorders documenting every day’s work and conversations, the band rehearse a huge number of songs, culminating in their final concert, which famously takes place on the rooftop of their own office building, bringing central London to a halt. The Beatles: Get Back tells the story of those sessions through transcripts of the band’s candid conversations. Drawing on over 120 hours of sound recordings, leading music writer John Harris edits the richly captivating text to give us a fly-on-the-wall experience of being there in the studios. These sessions come vividly to life through hundreds of unpublished, extraordinary images by two photographers who had special access to their sessions―Ethan A. Russell and Linda Eastman (who married Paul McCartney two months later). Also included are many unseen high-resolution film-frames, selected from the 55 hours of restored footage from which Peter Jackson’s documentary is also drawn. Legend has it that these sessions were a grim time for a band falling apart. However, as acclaimed novelist Hanif Kureishi writes in his introduction, “In fact this was a productive time for them, when they created some of their best work. This is a very large and heavy book, I was impressed by the care used in shipping it. Triple wrapped and extra cardboard to prevent damage. This is a must own for any Beatles fan. Great pictures and revealing text.amazon offers best price in the market

Beautiful book
I purchased this hardcover book for my husbands 77th birthday mainly because he likes the Beatles and he watched the tv special by the same title. This book is nicely illustrated and includes the dialog and great photos from that tv special. At 240 pages long its the official account of the creation of their final album LET IT BE told in the Beatles’ own words and illustrated with hundreds of photos never seen before. The book opens in January 1969, the beginning of their last year as a band. If you’re a Beatles fan you HAVE to get this book! It will also make a great coffee table book and great conversation starter.

Impressive
This book is spectacular. It offers the dialogue from the latest incarnation of the Let It Be sessions plus incredible photographs. It's a true necessity for all Beatles fans, and a true insight into their creative process for all music lovers.

Beautiful Beatles Book
Yes, this WAS worth waiting for! Callaway have done a superb production job with this book, it's not a cheap "any-old-thing-will-do" book, it will grace any bookshelf. The content is just fine, including the essays that were not necessary for the 1969 edition! The transcripts are slightly different too, a little more sweary, but that's a true portrait. Some of the original text has been omitted too. The pictures are fab. Others say blurry, I'd say grainy, just as they were originally. The price is reasonable too, especially those of us who pre-ordered! So glad to have this beautiful book to compliment my original Get Back book which fell to pieces years ago. This one won't suffer the same fate.

Like being there with the band.
Detta är mer eller mindre en uppdaterad version av originalboken som följde med Let It Be albumet när det släpptes 1970 men väldigt mycket utökad med nyfunnen dialog från timtals av oanvända ljudband och många fler bilder högupplöst nyscannade från filmnegativen. Man får följa inspelningarna i Twickenham och i Apple Studios dag för dag från de medverkande själva dvs the Beatles, deras film/studio crew men även Yoko Ono, Heather & Linda Eastman mfl. Man får ta del av diskussioner som både är roliga, informativa men även vittnar om en stundtals ansträngd atmosfär under arbetet med vad som skulle resultera i Let It Be albumet. En fjäder i hatten för Apple som inte bara vill visa de positiva stunderna alltså. Boken är definitivt ett måste för Beatlesfansen och en stor aptitretare inför den sex timmar långa miniserien som dyker upp på Disney+ i November. Vill man ha fakta om själva musiken och de olika inspelningarna som tas upp i denna bokens text så får man söka sig till den bok som följer med Super Deluxe versionen av Let It Be som släpps om några dagar.

Great Beatles book at a fantastic price!
When this book originally came out around the time of the Get Back documentary film, it was selling for close to $100 Canadian. I was very pleased to find it had come down to just over $21 and snapped it up. A nice companion piece to the Blu Ray of Get Back, a must for Beatles fans.
