After I extended the pole, I could not shorten it! can anyone help?

Mine jams sometimes. I twist it to unlock, you must get a firm grip and twist either way. Hope this helps.

Does the head screw onto the pole? I'm needing a screw-on head to use with existing (longer) pole

The pole extends you just need to twist the pole and extend it then twist it again to tighten it back up to its full height
