It's a spoon. With holes in it. So it only functions somewhat like a spoon and somewhat like a sieve. It is well built and works well, like most Oxo stuff.

GREAT serving spoon for items you do not want all of the broth or sauce to come with each spoon, it still bring enough sauce for my meatball marinara in a crock pot, but not too much. Good size and long enough handle to work!

So far the only thing I’ve used it for is getting poached eggs out of a pot. Works great, sturdier than I expected and has a nice long handle.

4 stars because the stainless is a thinner than I thought it should be, but it is sturdy and the handle comfortable. A good base model slotted spoon. Handle is the right length.

These get used a lot. Very sturdy and good size for scooping food.
