Bless this collar. Can finally walk with my strong goofy doberman
I have a 96 lb male doberman with an insane bro dog personality. He's a big sweetie and a good boy, but he has the attention span of a gnat whenever we go out. I thought training would get easier as he aged, as it did with the female doberman, but he's attention span has only gotten worse...and he's gotten much much stronger. Our leash journey: At my wits end, I tried training with a prong collar and used it 2x before throwing it away. I was hesitant to use it in the first place but I was really out of options. Didn't work and the big lug would literally rather die pulling than register it as an indication to stop, even with all the stop training, chicken jerky, and meatballs. It was also obvious he didn't understand why pulling = bad boy, so it was like training a really dense, but cute idiot. Pointless to call him bad if he's just not associating it with the pulling. I've resisted any muzzles or head collars because of the negative stereotypes people have of dobermans. And there are so many owners that perpetuate the Hollywood stereotypes by dressing their sweet-natured dobermans in "tough" gear to make their dogs look "cool". So I opted for this soft muzzle. It has minimal padding and that's good because the harness is loose around the mouth, I wanted enough padding so his fur wouldn't get rubbed too hard, but not too much so that it looks like a muzzle, or restricts him, esp on a hot day (sun out, tongue out <3) . He has full mouth movement when collar is in the relaxed position. He's a good boy and doesn't try to pry it off. And literally the first time I tried this, IT WORKED. He still likes to pull, but adjusts quickly and I don't have to hold onto dear life anymore. If he pulls he realizes his head will turn him back, so I can finally walk rather than being dragged by his goofy butt. He doesn't care if he has it on while off leash and will recall back to be clipped. This really worked for us. I know every dog is different. But give this a try if you have a hard-puller with short attention span for training. I'm just so glad I don't have to choke him as part of conditioning. He's such a good boy, he's just over-excited on hikes/walks to pay attention to training. TIP: If your dog tries to pull it off or find it irritating, train the dog to wear it for a while at home with lots of reassurance, kisses and treats, so that they get familiar with it (and don't think of it as a muzzle/punishment) before trying it outdoors. If they think of it was an accessory, like a normal neck collar, they'll be less inclined to pull it off.

Perfect Fit for My German Shepherd Service Dog!
Perfect Fit for My German Shepherd Service Dog! I’ve been using the Wintchuk Dog Head Collar for a few weeks now with my German Shepherd service dog, and it’s been a fantastic upgrade from other head halters we’ve tried. He’s strong, smart, and always alert—so having something that offers gentle control without causing discomfort is essential. The fabric is soft and padded, which I really appreciate since he wears it for extended periods during public access and training. It’s also fully adjustable, so I was able to get a snug, secure fit without restricting his ability to work. He adapted to it quickly, and I’ve noticed a big difference in how smoothly our walks and tasks go—especially in busy or distracting environments. As a service dog handler, I need tools that are effective but also respectful of my dog’s comfort and focus, and this head collar checks all the boxes. Highly recommend for working dogs or strong pullers who need a little guidance!

Cheap. Do not put on your dog.
My dog hates it. Doesnt fit well and after trying to use to twice it broke. I do not recommend this product.

Fits well, keep an eye on your dog.
It fits well and does its intended function, but my dog is too smart for me. She sneaks and gets the chin strap in her mouth and has started chewing on the harness. She truly hates that it makes her mind her manners on walks. At least it’s not too expensive so if she finally chews thru it I’ll just get another one.

One of the best training tools.
I have a German Shepherd puppy and she was a nightmare to walk. She was a bucking bronco on walks. Jumping and flailing around. I was ready to spend hundreds of dollars to take her to a dog trainer. I saw this harness and thought might as well try it. Ever since I have started using this she has been a saint on walks. It did take her some time to get use to it. I started by having her wear it around the house for a few minutes at a time with no leash attached. We eventually worked our way up to a few hours. She doesn't try to take it off anymore. During this time I would give her treats and pet her. I didn't want it to feel like a punishment. When we are walking, she stays by my side and has plenty of slack on the leash. She can still open her mouth, pant, bark, drink water and eat treats. I recomend using a leash that has 2 clips. I clip 1 on the mouth harness and 1 on her normal harness. I have complete control of her this way. The mouth harness doesn't seem to determine people from asking to pet her. I was worried it would make her look unapproachable and she would not get the vital people interaction when training. I really do recommend trying this type of harness if your dog has problems walking on a leash. My brother has gotten this harness as well for his dog. She has also improved on walks as well.

Effective and Well-Designed Head Collar
This padded dog head collar has been a big improvement over our previous one. It’s more comfortable for my dog, and I appreciate that it doesn’t have a plastic piece under the nose—that was a weak spot on our old collar that eventually broke. It really helps reduce pulling and makes it much easier to control my dog in public spaces. It’s also helped curb barking at other pets during walks. That said, my dog isn’t exactly a fan of wearing it—but the improved behavior and control make it worth it. A great training tool overall.

The product prototype is so good, however design is very bad. They should have done way better by providing better grip or locking system to stop loosening the belt. It is getting loosened after few jerks and it goes on. We had to use clips(used for cloths) to stop loosening and it looks way awkward keeping the clip. It was definitely a great product if they provide some locking/grip. With the clip, it controlled my dog very pulls very well. But had to return because of the fitting issues.

Sturdy. Like the way it was loose under her mouth if you weren't pulling on the lead.

Just got this in the mail. Not as heavy duty as I thought it was going to be. Not as much cushion around the mouth (blue material). Looking at it the quality doesn't seem too bad. Our dog is a puller so we'll see how it holds up. Easy to put on. The size large fits our newfie lab mix.
