I spray it around her and her favorite bed/blanket and it calms her down in 10 minutes to the point she is sleeping. It takes a little longer now that she is an adult and she may not sleep fully, but just sit still, but still effective. I want to know if spray will calm my cat & if it is safe.** A: After consulting my vet I decided against ordering this product, while she wasn't familiar with the product brand itself she said that geranium is a mildly toxic plant to cats and dogs, and the "calmness" could be side effects. To me is a risk I am not willing to take with the health of my pets. She suggested pheromone based calming products are usually safe , and to always check with products that are plant based (some plant extracts and oils can actually be fatal. **Q: Why do most of the reviews on a page for relaxivet natural calming spray for cats and dogs about car seat covers?** A: Amazon groups products together that it (probably a bot) thinks are related, for reviews. It’s a really bad practice but not the vendors’ fault. **Q: Does the spray contain lavender?** A: For anyone unaware, there are essential oils that are unsafe for cats (and dogs). It’s not the smell, it’s the oil, which can be quickly absorbed through cats’ skin if exposed to it (say by rubbing up against a spot that was recently sprayed with something that contains a cat-toxic oil) but their livers cannot get rid of those toxins, so essential oils can cause liver damage or even liver failure in large quantities. **Q: Does this product have expiration date** A: There is a date printed on the side of the bottle (mine is 3/2024) which I presume to be an expiration date.
