Evening Primrose Oil Capsules, GLA Supplement for Men and Women, Healthy Skin, Immune Support and Bone Strength 1300mg Softgels, 120 Count

Update-just ordered my second bottle, and I'm pretty certain I'll be using primrose steadily from now on. It really made a difference by toning down my cramps, and if I can take a natural supplement instead of a pain pill I'm all for it. Some people say this is good for weight loss or skin conditions...I did not notice any of that after a full 120 capsule bottle. If some miracle happens after the second one I'll keep you posted. Great quality, no aftertaste, fresh supply from the seller..overall the quality was very, very good. That being said, the pills are HUGE and I had some pretty nasty gas for a few weeks which I can only attribute to an "adjustment period" for oil supplements. But, I don't reek anymore, my skin hasn't changed much, but my cramps and menstrual symptoms seem to have calmed down quite a bit for me during the second month of pills (I cramp pretty significantly and need to be on a constant stream of Advil for days-not this past month though-so YAY!) . I'll probably give this a good 90-120 days before I make a definitive call on that though-could just be a fluke.

Barlean's carries high quality product and I have seen tremendous results using this on an every day pattern or for just "pms symptoms" as well. Especially since I have a 30 year battle with Endometriosis, 11-12 surgeries and only one ovary. My hormones get really out of whack and this helps that feeling of the hairs standing on the back of your neck feeling, where you could scratch someone's eyeballs out when they get on your last nerve. :-) Just being honest. Pms ain't no joke and neither are the symptoms associated with Endo, for those of you ladies that have had the kind of experiences I have, for a non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical, non-western approach to your symptoms, I would highly recommend these. If I didn't truly believe that they helped, I'm. Not the type to just write a review and I most certainly don't even bother taking that time even when I'm pleased unless it's extraordinary results. For me it's gotta have a little bit extra than the expected normal high quality and price point to give some feedback and this truly and sincerely helps with all of the above. I think it took a couple of months and I didn't take it as directed so I'm not going to say I followed the instructions because I took more knowing my body and what I have been through during my horrendous and horrific journey of being the guinea pig to many physicians and their closest opinion to what they have studied. I can tell you if someone had the feeling that I had everyday that was in the medical field there would be way more research and swaying of the pendulum of what is accepted for treatment and pain. The ONLY problem I have with Baarlean's Evening Primrose Oil softgels is that the ingredient list is invariably covered by the 1-1/2" x 3" bar code sticker. There is NO sticker covering the advertisement, but I never read those anyway. I do, however, often...well, always...refer to the ingredients and the volume of those ingredients on my supplements. The covering of the lawful disclosure of the ingredients is very important, and shouldn't be covered up! Other than that issue, like I said, I subscribe to these, and they are great!

I read about taking EPO somewhere online, I suffer from severe PMS, someone told me I should probably ask my Doc about PMDD, as I'm likely to have it. After searching for "Evening Primrose Oil and PMS", I read a whole lot of testimonials on it actually working. I was skeptical enough to try it, and decided to go with the 'creme de la creme' to start with. I really like this supplement. I only take 1 pill, not 2, daily. I find that taking 1 pill is enough to alleviate my symptoms. I get severe mood swings, angry at the drop of a hat, also physical symptoms like extreme breast tenderness and swelling, and horrible cramping. These symptoms are generally only present during my period. During ovulation, I only suffer from hormonal acne. Unfortunately the EPO has not helped with the acne, but I have Retinol-A from my Dermatologist for that. The EPO has really helped with the breast tenderness and swelling. That is the major change from taking this supplement. It also keeps me pretty level headed, which is very good because I'm likely to murder someone for looking at me the wrong way some days (well, some hours). I noticed that last month I only suffered from cramps for a couple of hours, and they were not as bad as usual, meaning I could still accomplish tasks. Generally my cramps are so bad that I don't like to move. This will be the second cycle on them, so I'm hoping it remains like that. If that's the case, its enough to make me a true believer and I will never not take these pills. Also, they made my nails a lot healthier, which is nice because they tend to break and split easily.

I've been taking these for a couple of weeks now as per the instructions on the bottle. I started taking them because I am going through the beginning stages of menopause and I have some uncomfortable symptoms. The usual PMS like stuff with hot flashes added in for fun. No one told me that menopause is like PMS on steroids...sheesh. Anyway, in my never ending effort to use natural remedies I read about EPO and decided to give it a try. I started taking them at the beginning of my ever lengthening cycle. Well...so far so good. My symptoms are noticeably better and my skin has improved a bit. They seem to be working, but I will take the whole bottle (and go through a whole hormone cycle) before I give a full 5 star review. UPDATE: September 27, 2014-Truly helps with the uncomfortable hormonal symptoms and skin dryness. I will be buying more.

I have been using this long enough now to review the impact for me on my body. I am in my 50's dealing with changes. Two capsules were too much and have found one capsule to do the job. No hot flashes and other menopausal issues I had been dealing with since using this product. Things were pretty tough for a while and I didn't want just any natural product off a box chain store shelf. It matters how oils are handled or any herbal product. I didn't want something over processed to where you loose the potency of the product. I did not want to use HRT's the doctors are so quick to place menopausal women on as they bring up the need for more issues and if I had to be on them I was told to take baby aspirin to help prevent clots. Seriously! At my age, natural is always better anyway, you can help your body function. This product has been a very helpful product. Hot flashes were non stop and serious around the clock with tenderness issues . I was on lowest dose of an HRT till it messed with my hormone balance and it made me feel yucky. I don't eat a lot of "junk" and do eat a lot of fruits and veggies and minimal meat proteins. I will stay on this product for however long my body needs it. This has been a huge help for me.
