High Tech Pet Backup Battery B12V-1.3 for High Tech Pet Power Pet Doors

It has operated will every time the power is off since I purchased it. With the summer storms the power has been off several times and the dogs can go in and out every time no problem.

Its great! Works exactly as advertised. Simple to install and requires no maintenance what so ever. It has performed brilliantly the three times we have lost power since I installed it. You will never know how much you appreciate you High Tech doggy door and emergency backup battery until the lights go out. Believe me you and your animals will definitely grow to depend on it without giving it much thought. Its just something you can count on.

Once again, people who have written a bad review on this battery have either gotten a defective one or are simply not for Milyer with the operating system.. I have turned the power off to my doggie door unit and relied on the battery and it works just fine. Yes the battery recharge light does stay on seemingly indicating that it is not holding a charge, but this is not the case. I trust the battery I've used it it works fine

I don't leave reviews. Ever. This battery is so bad, I had to warn others. I have the High Tech door and LOVE it. It's amazing. A bit of an eye sore, but a small price to pay for the convenience of the pups letting themselves out. The battery, on the other hand, is absolutely useless. I would like to have two batteries. One to use, and the other to charge and replace the active one when the battery is low. I have purchased SIX batteries total over the course of time. FIVE of them have never worked. The one that I have that works lasts a very long time. I expect you are wondering why I keep buying them. Because I need a second battery and I assume that I will eventually get a new one. Sadly, batteries are not returnable. I suck it up and try again. Only to be disappointed again and now I have paid nearly $175 in dead batteries. Absolutely absurd. This company needs to get its act together.

Works as intended but haven't had a power outage to really put it to use.

I had returned two of these batteries because the prongs were bent. This one is fine

The prongs were very difficult to insert into the receptacle. As many have stated even though the battery charged and seems to be working the red light never shuts off on the unit so it always looks like the battery is dead. If there is a reset button on the unit, I would love to know.

The picture here is what the HiTech PX1 pet door uses. However, the battery that was sent, had the terminals bent into the position that other products use. I had to unbend them back into the straight up position. For me, that's not a biggie. But for someone who maybe doesn't know, if they do it wrong, they can break the terminals or short out between the two. The battery should be sent to customer EXACTLY as is in the pictures, terminals straight up. Once I did that, I got the battery to fit into the door and it works fine. In fact, it's a life saver and A MUST HAVE FOR THIS DOOR. The door has something that's not cool. It appears that when the power goes off (many of us have this problem), when the power returns, the door seems to default where the 2 sensor lights are out, which means, the pet cannont go out or come in. THAT'S DANGEROUS in the heat of summer or subzero temps of winter, or also in situations where other animals can come into the yard and attack the pet. What can happen, is the pet goes out, the power glitches or goes off and back on, the door resets, and now the pet can't get back in. I HOPE THAT THE FACTORY LOOKS AT THIS ISSUE AND MAKES THE DOOR DEFAULT TO BOTH ON FOR ENTER, EXIT.

Seams to be all right time will tell .prongs need to be stratend to pug it in

The battery is what I was looking for but the reason it only got 3 out of 5 was because: 1. It is not an official High Tech Pet battery, it is a different name. 2. the prongs are not straight like the pictures, you have to bend them to make it work
