Evan Moor Write a Super Sentence

My 8 year old who has not enjoyed reading and writing in the past, loves this book!! She begs to do this every school day! I'm excited to see how it helps her writing skills!

Great Tool for Building Sentence Skills This is a very handy book for teaching kids how to write more complex sentences. It includes 15 exercises; the rest is teaching instruction and reprintable materials for classroom or home use. The instructions are clear and direct, and the materials are simple—not overwhelming. If your goal is to build a strong foundation without overloading your child with too much writing or reading questions, this is perfect. It’s not packed with tons of exercises, but it’s focused and effective. I used this with my child, and after just two exercises, his sentences improved from 3–5 words to more complex and interesting ones!

I am a homeschooling mom and I am always on the lookout for new, fun and engaging activities, this one sure fits the bill! We just used this for the first time today and it was a HUGE hit! We used the "level 2" sentence organizer and discussed nouns, verbs and adjectives. Then, we filled out the chart with at least 5 words for each category. They were all giggles while coming up with adjectives for the pig. Next, they wrote their "super sentence" on a copy of the "activity page" and colored it in - they turned out great! We are going to keep them on the fridge for a few days and then put them in a folder to make a book. My son is dyslexic and dysgraphic and this activity was great for him; short, sweet and direct! We are planning to use these for Fun Fridays - 2 thumbs up!

My 6th grader is having problems with sentences being too long and not using punctuation. This book is very very very basic. It did help and we refer to it because it helps your child understand nouns, verbs, adjectives. It sets the stage for a good sentence helping children go back to basics on sentence structure in an easy way. But this was taught on the first 3 pages of this book. The rest was just repeating the same things with different (easy) assignments. This book was definitely meant for a teacher to use.

My family homeschools and I noticed my son was spending too much time on his journal entries and wanted to spend some time working on making quick sentences. He loves this book and his daily sentence is taking less and less time. Seeing his progress in daily fun worksheets is so nice. Im excited to try their paragraph workbook next.

I use this to help my kids (6 & 7) improve their writing skills. It's very well organized and really helps to add to their vocabulary, I especially love how it builds their sentences slowly which helps to build their confidence also. It's a must have for kindergarten/first grade level.

This book really helped our 8 yr olds understand basic sentence structure. I love Evan Moor products. This is a great one to start with kids who are about grade 2. It gives them pictures for story prompts and is easy to use.

This is an excellent way to teach how to write good, complete sentences. I would recommend it for struggling first graders.

there is only one idea in this book and then it is repeated so often. i am not convinced that that will cover K-6 classes. i was expecting more depth and generally just more!

This book is well written and in simple terms, good for kids. It really breaks things down for them. I am a huge fan of evan moor books they have changed the way I academically support my kids at home. You can't go wrong with this book.

Honestly, don't waste your money. Look at the free previews for this product here and on the Evanmoor site and just follow the examples and make your own worksheets.
