Pico 2205A BASIC PicoScope 2205A 2 channel + AWG, 25MHz, w/OUT ProbesQ

It's no surprise the Pico 2205A delivers. All Pico products do! The 2205A is a basic oscilloscope that is more than capable of meeting most scope users needs. It's available in 2 or 4 channel version (I have the 2 channel). Specifications are identical between these two versions. For its price point, the 2205A has respectable specifications... 100 MHz bandwidth, 128 MS buffer, etc. And the shining feature of this scope (and all Pico scopes) is the software. Coupled with PicoScope 6 or 7, this little oscilloscope is pretty handy. Although not intended for automotive use, which usually calls for higher specifications, I have no problems using in that capacity for most routine automotive testing. Don't get me wrong, it will not replace a full blown automotive scope like Pico's 4000 series. But I feel it will satisfy most basic needs.

Works excellent, got it to get used to and practice with the PICO software for automotive use, and once I get pretty good at it ill eventually upgrade to the 4225 PICO which is 4 channel instead of 2 and the transition should be pretty seamless from already being used to the PICO software. Here's a crank sensor capture i got from a Ford 6.8 V10 engine with the 2205a PICO, excellent quality and detail, highly reccomend for the price...

This is a perfect starter scope. It has an exellent ui with features that are limited only by your imagination. Features found standard in higher end scopes, in this class, can also be achieved with this scope (for the most part) with some clever use of the custom math channel, as well as the custom probe tool. I highly recommend purchasing Picoscope. Even with the advent of upgrading, this scope will still be used.

Although it's a little cumbersome to use with so many options, it has some really nice features. One I use frequently is the serial stream decoder. With a few steps of setup procedure, a captured serial stream is decoded to Hex or ASCII values. This is just one of many tools that aide debugging.
