krtkl snickerdoodle Black – Zynq 7020 FPGA Development Board with Wi-Fi (Connectors Down)

I've done a number of projects with the Snickerdoodle Black in it, and it has worked out really great for us. The ecosystem is sufficient to get up and running with their development boards, or in your own system quickly. With board support in Vivado and a Ubuntu SD Card root file system, you get a lot right out of the gate. The Wi-Fi integrated right into the SoM with the antennas is really slick too - and they include all of the drivers and utilities to take advantage of it.

The biggest problem with this product is the inconsistent, incomplete documentation. Links to nowhere, incomplete and outdated videos, (like required serial port settings (not just baud rate), issues with Windows 10, etc). The videos are all amateur hour, what information that is provided is mostly what is in the sales docs. What is needed is complete info on setup using the existing packages tools.That said, for anyone doing complex robotics, this is a must have. The shear number of device connections available make this the perfect device to implement as the spine of a robot, possibly even the cerebellum.

This kit is great for prototyping new products and projects, and can easily be designed into your own product or project as well.The ability to run Ubuntu Linux on it is great, making it really accessible for a lot of folks.Using it with the baseboard the PiSmasher also opens up a lot of doors for projects and for learning embedded systems.Good community projects and support as well.
