Tougher than nails. Would be better with a pocket clip.
I received this product just a few days ago from writing this post. So far I am impressed with the quality of it, it is a solid feeling tool. In the few days I have owned it, I have used the blade, the cord cutter slot, the nail puller, and the bottle opener. The blade opens and works as it should. I like the fact that you must push down on the slide button before the blade will slide open. This keeps it from opening when I pull my phone out of my pocket. The cord cutter works as advertised. The nail puller works well in a pinch. I was pulling one nail with this tool, while my dad tried to pull another nail out with is SOG pliers. His pliers broke and I was able to pull out both nails without a problem once I figured out the method. Bottle opener works well also. As far as the "flat head screw drivers" I have not yet found these to be too useful. For reference; they will not fit in flat head screws for wall outlet covers and light switches, but it is capable of turning the screw in my lansky knife sharpener. If they were just slightly filed down it would be a bit more practical as a flaflat head, but I am happy with the strength of the pry bar so far. The tool longs for a pocket clip. With the size of this knife, I am currently running it as my primary blade, in place of my Spyderco Endura 4. The size of the tool closed is about the same size as an average EDC pocket knife. Its too long to sit flush in a change pocket. I have seen people add a pocket clip through use of the lanyard hole, but I opted to use an adhesive pocket clip, and I carry it tip up so the pry bar is not exposed. The clip I chose was the Boring Products pocket clip. I have also seen folks use the Nite Ize clips. I'm happy with my choice so far. The blade is slightly difficult to take out which I am fine with as it will hopefully limit accidents. It is still doable to remove without use of tools. I plan to continue using this as my primary EDC blade for a while. If I run into any major issues I will try and update this review. UPDATE: I've been using this tool now for over a month, carrying it every day as my primary knife. Since EDC-ing this tool, I have not missed carrying a normal folding knife. This tool is much more useful and has proven itself to me. I have not been easy on it. I have used every feature on the tool except for the wire strippers, and I do not have a lanyard attached to it. I stand by my previous statement about the "flat head" screwdriver function. It is not a practical flat head IMO as there are few screws that have a wide enough slot to utilize it. Some things I have used the tool for: Finish nails Sheetrock nails Bending fence wire Opening stubborn chainsaw gas caps Prying open paint cans Opening bottles Various cutting tasks from sheet rock, to clearing small brush The nail puller is more impressive than I imagined it would be. I was on a demo job and there were not enough prybars for everybody on the crew. I pulled this out of my pocket and pulled probably over 50 Sheetrock nails from the studs, working just about as fast as the guys with the crowbars. Just a couple of "bops" and the nail was out. After that job though, I did notice the slide was much more difficult to open. Some WD40 and a few minutes of playing with it and it was mostly back to normal. One con to note is I have found that the metal slot that holds the blade in place will dull that part of the blade, so you can't have two uses out of one blade like with a typical utility knife. This is not a deal breaker, just something to note before purchasing. If I were Gerber, a couple things I would try to change: Add a pocket clip (I would have rated 5 stars if it had a clip) Make the lanyard hole slightly larger so it could also function as an oxygen bottle wrench. UPDATE MAY, 2024: Unfortunately, after continuous hard use of this tool, I lost it in the yard while mowing. I was not easy on this tool intentionally. It wouldn't break. Since I lost it and it has become an essential tool for me, I came back on amazon to buy another just like it. To my surprise, I was very pleased to see Gerber had listened to us and added a pocket clip on the new, blue tool. I purchased it right away. I have not had a chance to break it in yet but I am a fan of the clip and the new scales as well. I am even able to utilize the clip as an O2 wrench for work. I have changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. So much functionality! Thank you for listening to us, Gerber!

Top-notch quality at an economical price!
This is an excellent EDC tool! It does not have a clip which, in my case, is an advantage, as it allows storage in a pocket or even a sock. The action is a bit rough, but solid and functional. The handle has the feel of a high-quality knife and the scaling assures it will not be dislodged from where you place it. It uses a standard utility knife blade (reversible) with change out a bit challenging, but workable with practice (no tool required). This is an excellent value for the money and I will likely purchase a few more.

Compact, comfortable, solid
Very nice quality, comfortable to use, and works well. The reason for 4* is, with too much force on the blade will allow the blade retainer to slip from cutting position, foward, to blade replacement position. I only took off 1* because it only does it when I am trying to cut off thick sheathing from large cables, which is asking alot. The prybar is solid and has a good angle, it doesn't get caught on things when not inuse, it's the most comfortable prybar I've ever carried in my pocket. The blade is easy to change, blade retention is good, just wish the position retention was a little better. Good value for the money.

Gerber review
Good quality , easy to open, like the idea that it uses common utility knife blades, pry bar is very useful. Mark

Great EDC for work!
Love this knife! I use a knife everyday for work. It’s cheap and it works well. Never have to worry about sharpening my Benchmade after a days work because I throw the blade and replace it with this. At first, I did not like the pry bar. I thought about grinding it down but I gave it a run and found it to be extremely useful on day to day operations. The bottle opener doesn’t work well. But a firm grip around the top of a bottle coupled with the pry bar pops the top with no worries. If you lose it, your only out $20, unless you add a clip; which I recommend. This is such a great carry compared to other box cutter. I bought my entire staff one each. Only thing I would like to see from Gerber is that they manufacture it with a clip so that you do not have to use an adhesive clip. I’ve replace the clip a few times but that was expect.

Best utility knife for EDC
This is the best edc utility knife you could ask for. The blade locks and is really secure. It's comfortable to hold and doesn't slip. The size is on the small side so it's perfect to keep in your pocket. It's a little difficult to change the blade at first, but once u do it a few times it becomes easier. The prybar feature is actually the main reason I bought it. Having a knife and small prybar in one tool is fantastic and it sure is handy

Careful about the belt clip
This item kind of exceeded expectations. It feels very solid, the locking mechanism does a good job of being secure but operable. However, don't let the pictures fool you. If the description doesn't say "...with clip" then it comes without one. I guess I could have read better, but even the versions without the clip show a clip in the images. You also have to destroy the packaging before you can see the back, so returning/exchanging didn't seem like an option. I'd have given it 5 stars if the clip was there!

Gerber does it right!
First of, one handed opening is a must, and this does it great. Very sturdy lock and fairly easy one handed operation (some people might say the thumb lock is a little hard to press). Secondly, the bulk of it is perfect. Other ones I've tried have been too small to really get a good grip on if I needed to, but this is a great size for manipulating with one hand and feels very secure when in use. I love this knife. I've had other minimalist edc Razer blade knives, and they are initially great, but for me soon became less and less practical and more of a "cool pocket thing" to have. I see this as the best designs do far, and an actually daily usable edc tool.

I work in a warehouse and this utility knife is perfect, I can cut open pallets, cut synthetic grass, cut strapping and I use it on my lunch too.
