Trust No Nigga by Tamika Newhouse ♥♥♥♥ (SEMI-SPOILER REVIEW)
Trust No Nigga by Tamika Newhouse ♥♥♥♥ (SEMI-SPOILER REVIEW)Trust No Nigga, is about three friends: Jade, Sheena and Monique, who all met years ago in college. Each woman is dealing with her own personal relationship dilemma.Jade: is madly in love with Eddie, a`d' boy, known to the streets as Easy. Problem, Easy has a hard time keeping his privates home. Sheena: breaks one of her own rules, and starts dating Paul, a`d' boy, known to all as Dunts. Yet, when he deceives her, she decided to; silently play the same game better than he does. Monique: is stuck in between two opposite worlds. Instead of her man Cory discouraging his woman from living a degrading way of life, he finds pleasure in his pimp daddy lifestyle. These men cheat, run the streets, pimp out other women, and do not forget their illegal side hustle; then after they done did their dirt, they go home and wanna play house; (... Excuse my grammar ...) ain't that some mess. Some will say `How could highly educated women deal with men in this caliber? How could any woman, regardless of scholastic background allow men to continue to degrade them?' These women are `Stupid,' `Dumb,' `Naïve,' and, you are correct. In the words of - - The Main Ingredient: "Everybody plays the fool, sometime ..." Question is, how long will these women subject themselves to been hoodwink by these men.Still, beyond their issues with the men in their lives, `Jade, Sheena and Monique' have a tight bond; they are each other's shoulder to cry on; the friends you call when you need to vent, the women who easily put a smile on your face. But, what happens, when their friendship with each other and the relationships with their men are put through a major test at the same time; the results, someone is about to be flunked.Jade, Monique and Sheena each tells the story from their viewpoint. In addition, a few chapters from Dunts standpoint. The character development seemed hurried, but still in all, nicely done base on the page length. In regards to editing, there were moments were the adjustment of tense is not properly noted. A character would be in her or his own thoughts that related back to the past; other than spacing, they were no written indications, (that I recall), that move the past thought into the current. In no means, did it bother me, or take away from the story, however just wanted to make a note for others.Cannot wait for Part 2! Ms. Tamika Newhouse, I am going to go ahead and rename the title if you do not mind to, Trust No Nigga & a B***!

Impatiently waiting for part 2!!!
TNN is one of those books that will have you all in your feelings and having you want to inject yourself into the story, just to slap some sense into every last one of these females. TNN could truly be a nonfiction book because the story portrayed here could just as easily be something happening in real life. This book had me SMH at these females throughout the entire. And that ending!!! Each woman gave up so much of themselves all in the name of 'love'. They sacrificed their happiness, morals and most importantly their wants/needs for men that didn't deserve it, hence the title of the book. But unfortunately, this is something that happens everyday.Jada has accepted Easy's cheating ways and disrespectful ways for so long, that she refuses to walk away from the relationship because she doesn't want the next woman to have 'her' life because she feels she's entitled to it...but in the process she loses herself and something so precious to her. Will Jade ever reach her breaking point...or has she already reached it? Sheena goes against her own rule and falls for a d-boy and soon finds out that this 'life' isn't always roses and gold....will this be a decision that she regrets or will she roll with the punches that comes with being a d-boy's wifey? Monique is deep into things that she never imagined she would do...all for the love of her man and proving to him that she's that down chick. She's living 2 lives and neither is a life that she envisioned herself living....will she continue to prove her loyalty to Cory or will she walk away?TNN is full of lies, deceit, drama, and betrayal all rolled into one. I don't have anything bad to say about the book other than the flips between the past/present didn't always end in a way that you knew you were back in the present. But other than that the book was well written with minimal grammatical errors. I would definitely recommend this book. Its my first book by the author but won't be my last. You won't be disappointed if you 1-click this juicy page turner.

FREAKING AMAZING!!!
i had to rate this book. i have been huge on urban fiction lately and that is were most of funds go lol but i have never read a book that literally spoke to my heart. tamika newhouse knows how to use words and she makes u feel every single thing that happens. the best example i can give is when monique goes thru her trauma (i can't say!!!) the pain she feels is so well described that i am feeling her pain and more. the only reason i didn't give this book 5 stars is because it is a little confusing with all the back and forth i remember myself going back and forth trying to get things straight between characters and figuring out who was with who. BUT its an unbelievable book I read it again right after i finished it and i loved it just the same (i actually might read it again). i can't wait for part 2 because the end leaves you wanting so much more :)

Very Good Read
Friends. How many of us have them? Friends. Ones we can depend on? Jade, Sheena and Monique. Three friends and young women caught up with men that are in "that life". Things get real sticky as they maneuver through situations with the men they love and there own issues. The friendship is and will be tested. What will they do? Go or stay? Get caught in there own mess, or what? I have to say, the book caught my interest as soon as a I started reading. This is the second book I've read by Tamika Newhouse, and I have a few more on my kindle. What I like most about this young lady is, she writes in "real life", not fantasy. The feelings, emotions and actions of these ladies were felt by me. I have to say, the ending left my mouth hanging wide open. I have to read book two! Bravo girl! Go on and write!
